Works across the world every time I do it.
Edit : I'm to slow =)
There is also a reason for crafting elements becoming unstable. I'm not a crafter so I won't attempt to explain as I know others are more knowledgeable on the subject.

Just looking at the elemental charts can explain some of it I think. Fire being strong to Ice/weak to Wind can explain something like an Ice unstable popping up. Then sometimes you're crafting with multiple types of shards/crystals. It may go deeper than that as well, but I'm not too sure.
I think I've had some that couldn't be explained away by the elemental chart so easily, and rather than looking into moon phase, weather, calender, etc. I just went with "It's wacky".

This is a horrible reason to make it OK to do to players. Read my signature to know where I stand.
Thank you, couldn't have said it better myself. But this is not real life, this is a videogame. I don't want real life inconveniences to affect me here. Or would you rather your character be dead permanently once he dies in game too?
Unequip, repair, then reequip is an unnecessary step that adds absolutely nothing to the enjoyment of the game.
This.
Yea, but it does need to be more convenient. As far as realism, just because the RPs like it doesnt mean the other 95% of the playerbase needs to be exposed to this ridiculously inconvenient system.Even in a video game they most have real life laws and FFXIV is all about realism i'm sorry you take it off put it in your sell bag and ask someone to repair maybe they could make it easy to make it go to the sell bag faster like.
Click Body--> send to repair --> price --> done ---> wait for repair---> back on your body.
@Wolfie it's about realism even in a online game they should have some type of Realism.
If it can make both sides of the argument happy, then fine by me. Otherwise lets drop THAT aspect of realism. The user interface is there to make things simple for you, not make things more difficult.
If you put something up for repair while you have it equipped, the assumption is that you have unequipped it. Actually making you unequip it and take two additional steps is unnecessary. Perhaps, for the sake of realism, the item could become 'unequipped' when someone actually goes into repair mode. All the while it is in your bazaar, however, it should still be equippable.
Preach it! I redirect you to my sig.
I point this out all the time, but anybody that defends the way PC repairs work, seem to not mind the fac that an NPC can figure out how to do it, but that players can't. Odd?!?!..........Well I just want to remind people that the repair NPC actually repairs equipment while you wear it. In fact they can't repair any equipment that you aren't wearing actually.
I think it is just the design function of the bazaar posting system that makes you need to take off and seek repairs which I don't find that big a deal. Repairs are much more reasonable now after the few patches adjusting rates of durability decreasing. I just wish I wouldn't fail repairs so regularly on new and full moons even being over 30-40 ranks above the item's rank.
