.... Do you know how much tank gear I've passed because I had af 1.5 and it's better? This change sucks.... Wth did I blow myth on my warrior/paladin when I could have just waited for the alagan crap, and it would be buffed to better and spent my myth on +1's....
I see SE is already running this game like wow, not just making it like wow, but managing it like wow..... Sounds like something blizzard would do to world of warcraft after a vocal minority complains that myth and relic are on par....
Imo, AF 1.5 should be better than alagan, not the other way around. And to get AF 1.5 it should require a method not involving farming tomes of myth.... E.g. there should be a 3rd chest on each boss in BCB that drops a Artifact Armor Token and you get one per boss for 1 person. The chest should be set to not drop a token unless someone actually needs it in the group

What bothers me is that many people like me have yet to be able to clear Turn 1 decided to get AF2 because it was on par with Allagan. Just took longer to get than Allagan gear.

AF 1.5 better than Allagan. Really? REALLY?.... Do you know how much tank gear I've passed because I had af 1.5 and it's better? This change sucks.... Wth did I blow myth on my warrior/paladin when I could have just waited for the alagan crap, and it would be buffed to better and spent my myth on +1's....

was not like that in ffxi before abyessaSorry guys. I know people are pissed but the majority of people here have played multiple MMO's in the past.
This kind of stuff happens all the time.
Gear gets changed. Nerfed. Buffed. New gear comes out and makes old gear obsolete. This has happened in every online game I can remember playing in the last 10 years. No one here should be shocked. No one should be pissed that you wasted tombstones on AF2 because it was bound to become obsolete at some point. (And it still isn't obsolete. Its just not the absolute BIS. You'll still be able to rock all available content.)
Besides, not having BIS anymore gives some hardcore peeps something to do now. Isn't that what people have been bitching about? Not having anything to do?

Yes, it should, but af +1 shouldnt be obtained the way it is. AF is the gear the defines your job and at some point, it SHOULD be the gear you aim for to be the best for your job. Maybe when we start getting additional effects on gear, like enhances xyz.

I'm all for more and equal options. Allagan being equal to myth gear provided people who couldn't or didn't want to raid a progression path. Depending on how much they buff Allagan with the iLvl change they could cause major problems. If Allagan is a little better than stuff you can grind out over time, that won't be as much of an issue and keeps both camps happy. Hardcore raiders get the best gear and people who don't want to raid get gear that is say 1 primary stat lower.
I see a similar thing with the primal hard modes. People who don't have the time/desire to fight all three over again can get a relic +1 with enough time putting them on a near even footing with people who want to take their chances on the primals. And people with the new primal weapons get the ego boost of being one of the few with it. This side-grade stuff that has a different appearance extends the life of the game and makes it more accessible to everyone.

Yes, really. AF Class armor should always be the best gear in the game. And it should be astronomically harder to acquire. Think World Of Warcraft Tier Gear, Tier 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.... When I quit wow we were at Tier 8.5 and it was the BEST gear you could have. But you couldn't farm tokens for it.
Tier Tokens dropped off bosses in Icecrown Citadel

Was silly how myth gear was the same as Allagan in the first place, I mean common I'll just login 1 day a week and spam WP/AK and then logoff and play something else and then in X weeks I'll have the best gear in game. Frankly it's stupid. If you want the best gear, then do the hardest content for it. Simple as that. For all the people complaining about it being changed because they don't want to do coil, so why exactly do you need the best gear in the game then? To look pretty? To see you have the best gear in the game? Don't be silly.
Herein is the reason that Dev Team's reasoning on crafted gear being kept subpar is faulty.I was quite happy farming myth pieces knowing they were top end. Now if I want top end gear I'm FORCED to run coil wich I have no interest in doing. Way to drop the ball yet again yoshi, instead of giving us more options to gear up, your forcing us into a single, crappy, broken rng raid if we want good gear.
This player (no slam to you Bichcat, merely making the example) does not want to do Coil. He/she is still obtaining gear at this time on par or superior to Coils equipment. o.O
Now Coils gear is going to i95 perhaps, but that is somewhat irrelevant unless the pieces that are not BiS have some statistics change. o.o i95 piece overflowing with redundant accuracy is still not as good as i90 with DET and CRIT in most scenarios.
Please consider this, Dev Team, in further considerations about the role of crafting in equipment choices.
