I am not liking most of what I am reading from the interview at all outside the part of them working on the ps3 still.
Job system just sounds really bad atm in the way they are implementing it.

It doesnt seem likely since Matsui already stated they arent going to be similar to XI, even with the auto-attack base of the new battle system. I'm also not sure why there are people thinking that we arent going to get more job types in the future. Now as far as instantly translating class rank to job rank once unlocked...i'm not sure if thats a good thing or not. On one hand, it might let people get into jobs and questing for job skills/beating up rank 50 dungeons easier...on the other, you might have people quickly gaining all current job abilities without learning how to play as said job first.Because playing what essentially sounds like a gimped version of FFXI shouldn't sound very appealing.
This of course assuming that A)this info is true, B)they don't add more jobs that you can equip on the fly on top of your class later, and C)they go with a carbon copy of stuff they had in FFXI(which seems likely now).
Regardless, even if we do get the same "staple" jobs, im sure they wont be exactly the same as the XI versions.
How so?

Most of us dedicated players master new abilities on our third raptor.
I rather not be put in the short bus, since it's expected that people in my LS will be good players too.
Also the kind of group coordination you (will?) need for endgame boss fights can't really be learned by grinding.

Simple it says basically once we get to level 50 boom now Gladiator is Paladin after a quest. No Re leveling, No challenge, boom easy sauce. That is how so, Most of this game is to easy there is really no challenge or strategy, No Relics that take 3 years to accomplish, No events that last longer then 10 minutes, nothing...
Where is the challenge, Where is Dynamis, Salvage, Sea, Sky, The drops you felt accomplished to get in XI like Ebody Haute etc. The game needs that kind of rewarding otherwise it is pointless. Granted it does not need 21-24 hour mobs that can only be claimed via a bot, but you need to feel some sort of reward when you finally get that piece of gear you strive for.
I still have no idea how the job system will work, but if it's just a advanced class I better have to level the damn thing!
It's not necessary another grind fest if there are other kind of 'challenge' when you become a paladin. Like this quote from Matsui:
It seems every ability of the job has to be acquired by quests (possibily hard depend on the abiity). And there is also special equipment for every job to get. So the challenge to become a nice, in this case Paladin, is still there.you will be compensated with access to exclusive actions, which can be acquired through quests.
If the quests are challenging so be it, But once again it will most likely be solo content which I am personally getting sick of. MMORPG - Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game... Right now SE seems to have forgotten the MULTIPLAYER part of this game. It's not necessary another grind fest if there are other kind of 'challenge' when you become a paladin. Either way there needs to be some sort of leveling whether it be 50-75 or whatever. I would agree that 1-50 over again might be a bit mundane, but I personally love the feeling I get after working towards something and then finally getting it and earning it.
We don't know if those quests are SOLO only :P They could be inserted in the various dungeons (raid/party) as well.
