my Toshiba laptop is a quid core / HD gfx 1024 mb / 4gb ddr3 ram. game installed to USB stick at 46mb reading write speed. 3x faster then HD. Hd takes way longer and lags on video clips in game. the opening video of the game lags like freaken hell on usb and HD.

have it jacked to a 32in LCD TV screen.

Possible to get the exact model of that laptop?

When you say "HD gfx", do you mean "Intel HD"? Since if you do that's very likely the problem, as this would imply an IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor) and not dedicated / discrete graphics. If on the otherhand you meant a Radeon HD, I'd need to know what model to say for sure.

In the case that your notebook does have discrete graphics, then one possibility of the poor performance in videos (and the long loading time) would be if the PCI-E bus was underperforming. This is pretty rare for the drivers in a fresh install of Windows to behave that poor, yet can happen on some modern motherboard chipsets (Ivy Bridge onward), where the PCI-E controller with the stock Windows 7 drivers runs at PCI-E 1.0 x1 or x2 (completely destroys performance).

... I couldn't even guess / take a stab without knowing the exact make / model to know what's in there though.

    Clarification:
-Intel's display drivers are pretty bad.. Any possibility that you got a driver-update slipped in through Windows Update?
-Have you done anything to the machine between the time that it ran "ok" and now? Reinstallation of the OS, etc. Anything that can cause a major driver change (chipset, display drivers, etc).

**bad chipset drivers / underspeed PCI-E bus symptom (experienced first hand on my P8C WS) result in ... stuttering on players / objects entering view, long zone loading times, stuttering during animation playback, extremely poor performance in the Waking Sands, during the first WP boss, etc.

(basically in any case that there's high traffic to the card ... texture / geometry upload, horrible performance)
