My main concern is that it is too little far too late. Nov 22 for part 1 of a discussion about a content patch that could have been released in small pieces starting weeks ago.

September, October, November... That's three months. 2.1 was originally set for release this month, but due to the changes and 'grab everyone we can so we can fix this' of Server Jam they were forced to delay it. By a shocking one month! About how long it took them to finally get all the issues with Server Jam fixed and stable. They also said a patch every 3 months, and we can all see how that turned out. The fact that they had to halt development on the patch to deal with the server stability issues (which I understand were well known in beta) shows how seriously we can take the estimates of this team.
The stability issues didn't emerge until open beta, and were misdiagnosed. They believed they had fixed that problem (they hadn't), and went ahead with Early Access (a mistake). SE has been far more open about the issues they are dealing with and have dealt with than most other MMOs. The time estimates they gave for getting the server issues resolved seemed pretty accurate to me. They announced when the new adjustments and servers would be ready, and that's when they were ready.
I can wait. I'd rather they released content when it's ready, rather than to a schedule. They stuck to a schedule with the launch, and look how that worked out.
Here's the planned changes for MRD and WAR.Originally Posted by ChriskoOnAnotherLevel

well I'm just glad Yoshi was upfront and honest about why there is a delay and that we are getting more content next month. Which is about a week and some days away I think.
Its kind of entertaining to see some people are forever unhappy because if it isn't now the content has some how spoiled and isn't good enough for them because it was delayed XD.
It's still weeks away? Far out.
Look, I absolutely love FF14.....but you guys are now following the trend of Blizzard did with World of Warcraft. There is a reason why WoW went from 12 million players to 7 million all within 4 years...boredom! I absolutely thought SE would have learned from other companies mistakes and actually follow another trend....but with this it shows me otherwise. Most players like me are stuck only doing 2 dungeons to farm stones for crafter mats to sell or doing 3 hours of coil a week and nothing else. Not every player wants to lvl every class or get every crafter to 50 or have the time to do so....but thinking players are going to still pay for a game that has so little endgame content is foolish and I hope FF14 doesnt become just another hyped game to fail because the SE decided to keep delaying content that should have been done as stated at launch.....
Then you, of your own free will, are deliberately choosing to not participate in a significant portion of the game's content. Content SE has stated they designed the game around. SE intended players to play multiple classes. They tailored the content, including end game, around that idea. Yoshi himself clearly states as such in this very thread.
If it hadn't been for their utter failure to properly diagnose the server issues during Early Access and launch, the content you're wanting would already be released.
As for WoW, every single person I've played with have all agreed that it was too much content that killed their desire to continue to play WoW. Call it expansion fatigue. The end game of vanilla, BC, Wrath, and Cata are completely ignored now. And players know that the current endgame is temporary and will be replaced when the next expansion comes out. They've also realized that the fundamentals of the game will remain unchanged and that is why they left. They were tired of the 'new raid, same play' situation.
SE needs to bring HNM's and NM to xiv. It worked well in xi so why not have it here.
It would give guys at max level plenty to do.
And if drops were BOP then it would stop rmt meaning everyone would get chance to claim them.
No one ever said xi was boring or lacked content.
Anyone ever play Neverwinter? Don't you agree the Dragoon's jump should do what the Great Weapon Fighter's Avalanche of Steel did? Would be amaaaaazing!
With the long delay in the sky.....ermm no thanks XD but able to move around while in the sky before landing, that is kinda cool haha.
Thank you for the update. I wish more of the player base was patient. Most don't seem to understand how complicated things are.
