Yeah. It's how it was in XI. Unlock your advance job and level it. Put engaging mid level content in the game (Read: Non-repetative) and make it fun to level more and more jobs.

Problem is I can't see much more that can be tossed in aside from questing for exp (which the people here are vehemently against because of their WoW/WAR/CoH-phobia), unless you make people run the dungeons over and over again and introduce some balanced around lower level ranges (since the ones in the works are rank 30+).

I have a feeling it will be another delay due to the psn hacking. My dad said that because of the hacking, sony had to make new developer kits and send them out. And since ffxiv uses the full internet, they might need to remake using the new dev kit. (just guessing based on what he told me)

I think so, in FFIV's original NA SNES release, he was called Efreet...or was it Jinn? Either way I know i've seen it translated that way somewhere lol.

Actually Efreet is the correct name but SE uses Ifrit instead to be different i suppose. Ifrit matches the very definition of an Efreet.

maybe stop rerolling and maybe you can get 30 before they add the dungeon and you can talk about it. i reroll 10 times and i'm 14 level over you and i taking a time off lol.

:P How do you know what lvl I am :P I never kept an accurate ffxiv character siggy. I'm doing well on my current character. But I do not rush leveling so even w/o rerolling I take my time and enjoy the game. Did a few quests also. That story about beaded rock from sweetix roseycheeks quests was pretty cool Now I know why beared rock is called bearded rock.

I wrote down the new info a while back.

It never occurred to me that the people on the Japanese side of things are already discussing the interview, so I searched for dengeki on the lodestone blogs, and there are a few posts discussing it:

Here's the translated info from the interview:

There's going to be one job that corresponds to each class. You do a job quest and then you get to use that job. Doesn't say which jobs are going to correlate with which classes, but I think Gladiator -> Paladin is confirmed.


Once you get that job, your job rank will be the same as your corresponding class rank. So, if you're a GLD 50 now, you'll become a Paladin rank 50.


Right now you can equip high rank skills even on low rank classes and because it's a little too much freedom, they will restrict it in order to promote more class identity and class uniqueness.

The old dev team's concept of companies as some kind of glorified linkshell may come back later. Maybe.
