My dad said anyone who has 2900 posts and a level 3 job is a troll and should not be spreading rumors on FFXIV forumsI have a feeling it will be another delay due to the psn hacking. My dad said that because of the hacking, sony had to make new developer kits and send them out. And since ffxiv uses the full internet, they might need to remake using the new dev kit. (just guessing based on what he told me)
Say hypothetically that you're designing a game. Do you honestly think it is a good idea for an entry-level player to have to grind a foundational class (for example a gladiator) which is so generic that it barely has any specialised role in a party-play environment, and to do so in a game with little to no variation in questing as it is, and then force him to stop every few levels to simultaneously rank up his job (for example Paladin) by doing the same forgettable quests he just did?
The trick is making it fun to grind. If you are going to do the exact same leves to 43 and then do raptors, then no, that's not good. If you have enough mid game content, then... wait... didn't I say this already?
I guess not only do you not have the ability to edit your own posts, reading has been thrown out as well.

QFT.
Pretty much. The reason in XI for example people liked Abyssea's grinding was because it was different, controllable fun for those who like to mow down things and easy going (in the right conditions)..yeah it gets repetitive after awhile but so does everything else in online games. The trick is making it fun to grind. Well if the person blogging the Dengeki stuff is posting accurate info, then I hope that if we decide to change to a certain job, we'll still be able to rank up using that job, and not have to switch back and forth.
Say if you need to take class A to rank 30 in order to get the Dark Knight quest, I can just stay a Dark Knight and continue to rank up like that.
As far as grinding in general goes...I wouldnt mind grinding, as long as you didnt have to stay in the same place/could explore areas while grinding.

It pisses me off that we haven't gotten a proper translation. Even that google translate has some new stuff in it (ifrit battle in 1.19 for one) and it looks like PS3 version is coming during winter at the earliest.
And if they put anything like Abyssea in XIV ill quit this game just as fast as I quit XIPretty much.
