I am lucky,this is the first game that i am not effected by any maintenance. I do not remember a huge outcry from any US or Oz players defending the EU for massive amounts of lost game time.
What i do remember is that when ever i or anyone else complained when any of the games that did things during my play time is being told to STFU and deal with it.

I am not stating this to be be smug or a smarty pants, just saying that now the shoe is on the other foot just chill out and wait for things to calm down. SE might make minor changes to their schedule but i wouldn't expect them to start jumping through hoops any time soon.

This is the first MMO i have played where the maintenance has not effected my play time. Usually the unaffected party is USA or JP. I never made a huge fuss, i excepted that things needed to be fixed and excepted that the times picked were effecting as little people as possible and i was just unlucky.
I have put up with this stuff for over 10 years.

I do not remember multiple threads happening on the WoW forums for instance where USA people jumped up and down in the defence of EU players because maintenance was unfair. Yet when for a change the shoe is on the other foot there is a huge uproar and it is suddenly a travesty.

If you cannot play then that is unfortunate but don't expect people to be all up in arms over something so trivial.

If you had any clue what it is like to be in the OP shoes, then you would help him by more professionally addressing the issues in a bigger light so people understand it more clearly.

Communication is key in any successful business model where customer and community relations are the driving force of its success.

If there is an issue that is effecting many, most people are quick to whine and forget how to constructively build an argument due to emotion getting in the way and because this thread has fallen off the rails with posts like yours who are literally poking a stick at nasty bee hive in an attempt to get some kind of attention from it, then yes I am quoting myself in a bid to help the OP achieve what he originally intended to achieve.

For the record I live in Europe, so I'm certainly not thinking "US onry(sic)", and was personally never bothered by maintenance times, as they usually are rather late at night for us (excepted emergency ones which are very frequent in this game compared to others and may happen at any time). Also, just fyi, Blizzard seems to have regional teams since WoW's maintenance in the EU are performed at the same relative hours than in the US (that is, from ~6 AM to ~11 AM give or take 1h, and are often limited to a reboot of 5 minutes these days). But let's not digress.

I simply advocate that it's not good for the game to exclude such a huge chunk of the potential customers of the game, even if I'm not affected myself. I would call that a 'business/service' feedback. I do not ask for anyone's sympathy (certainly not for me, as you see) nor do I offer any. My point of view is mainly and simply the interest of the game. I simply state that how SE manages maintenances schedules, and their elevated frequency, may be detrimental to the game.

If I understood you correctly, since you used to be affected and never complained, now that you're not affected you consider that others shouldn't complain either, because seeing people voicing negative feedback is boring you. You also believe that these threads are aimed at you, and that the posters complaining are asking you to sympathise.

Is that correct?
And do you (or others) agree with the idea that "The whole pacific zone could stop playing and the game would keep running"?

To all those who support that statement: I, for one, find such a sentiment obnoxious. People voice a discontent: not sympathising is one thing, but pushing them away and denying their frustration is another entirely. Indifference may be preferable, because at least it doesn't aim at diminishing the game itself, and doesn't negate other's feeling about it.

Thus regardless of that statement's validity, I fail to see how that would be good for the game's profitability (more profit = more content, better service for all), or how it helps this community's cohesion or agreeability. If defending a game or feeling better implies making the game worse, I think it's a strange, quite detrimental way to do it.

The point is not the hours, but the frequency of the downtime.

Yes people expect updates and maintenance, but not every 1 to 2 days.

Yes people can accept maintenance, but not every sitting when they plan to play.

This is the point, it is not about any one persons personal gain here, if you had any ability to comprehend what you read, you would know this.

Nobody makes a person quit. Those people CHOOSE to quit. They chose to quit because the game wasn't up constantly during their play time which is fair. SE nor did anyone else make a person quit. Love it when stupid delusional people try to play themselves as a victim.
