Well, the still-to-come Dragon Quest crossover event is being done in ARR for a specific reason, like the current FFXIII and upcoming FFXI crossover events - as part of the DQ series anniversary. So I guess it is possible if the Chrono games reach a similar milestone, but otherwise it's highly unlikely.

(And as for my earlier reference to Sonic and Mario, yes I know a lot of spinoff titles now feature the two arch enemy mascots together but I was referring to 'old school' Mario and Sonic games - Sonic in, say Mario 64 or Mario running through the original Sonic game just wouldn't work.)

Sorry, but the context is drastically different on them. You'd be better off not having made the analogy at all.

Back then, SEGA and Nintendo were *the* rivals. FF titles from the time and CT share part of the team. See?

But yes, the lore has absolutely no connection whatsoever, and the chance of Magus Castle appearing is zero. The point to be made is that Squeeny has a Kurumada Complex on CT, hating it with a passion, as well as their fans. Did you see the PS "de"make? Did you see the Android version?

Their favorite time of the year is during CT's anniversary alright: sending C&D letters to fan projects.

Yeah, CT and FF are completely different mythologies. Anything past a silly cameo simply wouldn't fit in with the Lore, unfortunately.

And the FF titles have the same mythology? CT has as much to do with FF7 as FF7 has to do with FF3, they're both square titles and ATB. So by your definition Crystal Tower is silly.
