Sooo this happened to me today...

Generally, what I do is I stoneskin healers 100% of the time and then I'll watch players if I notice they're idiots taking stupid dmg they shouldnt be then i'll include them in my Stoneskin rotation.

I like stoneskin even if it's not the best use of mana only because it gives me a chance to prioritize my healing. If an o'sh*t moment happens SK can really help cushion.

Actually, if everyone know what they were doing and not making mistakes, this BOSS can be easily solo healed.
But healer DPS is always optional. 2b or not 2b, always up to u~No one else have right to forces it.

We solo-healed and solo-tanked Ifrit last night for fun. Went perfect until the PAL missed a stun and nuked 3/4 of our rDPS. Luckily the one who survived was a SMN, and rezed the rest for our SCH while the two DRG just kept stabbing away like nothing happened...

On-topic, I've only healed Ifrit HM once (for my relic), but I don't recall having mana issues. In a dungeon I'll DPS when I can, sure, but with all that goes on in Primal fights, I rather just focus on healing.

Honestly I will sit at 80% mp on these fights to, but Im a regen healer. I can still toss some dots on the boss and watch others health. But really stoneskin non stop? Seems dumb. Stoneskin will maybe block 2 hits 3 tops? But like someone else said, healers will always do what feels safest for them, cause if we die or go oom everyone is dead.

There is one good time to drop SS on mDPS; right before the Volcanic Bursts. If the mDPS has enough HP, he ignores the knockback effect completely. This is especially important for the Nail phase, if there is no BLM/SMN in the party, and especially if Ifrit is not placed correctly (and can Burst to the farthest Nail).

any healer (especially WHM) that can keep their MP that high is a healer that knows what they are doing. If you are running low on MP, you are either using a lot of stoneskins, people are taking too much damage or you are dpsing.

I get blamed for not healing as I was at about 80% MP during ifrit and had to explain to the warrior how shroud of saints worked ^^; I was basically solo healing as the scholar was new and getting hit a lot. We wiped once as the nails weren't broke then won 2nd go, still got moaned at as warrior left though -.-

I've never understood why people complain about healers UNLESS the group is failing. If you are winning, then heals are fine, and really no need for them to DPS (unless there is time and they want to). If you are failing cause people are dying AND its not the fault of people standing in crap, but because the healer isnt doing their job, then fine or if you aren't killing something fast enough AND the healer has time to DPS and doesn't... but if you are winning, and complain, then you are one of those people that just has to QQ over something... anything

I would have just laughed and told them not to flatter themselves. I've solo healed ifrit and it is easy so I don't care what the other healer is doing.

I've seen some ineffective healers in primal fights but I've never seen it where a healer isn't trying. I usually finish ifrit with almost full mana because my base cures do over 1k HP so you could just be better geared as well. Because of this I've also been accused of not assisting. The log will say otherwise and it's easy enough for the party to check.

You think being yelled at for having too much MP as a White Mage is bad? I've been yelled at for having too much MP as a Scholar... by someone who wasn't dodging any attacks during Titan! I guess they didn't know that I can regain a huge chunk of MP very easily. Oddly enough I was also compared to the other Scholar in the party who had very low MP... no idea what they were doing though. Apparently some people don't know how MP works and assume if you have more MP it must mean you are healing less!
