Yeah everyone needs to play classes they don't like. If everyone level a tank, we wouldn't have this tank shortage.
How to prevent running out of things to do: Do content you don't find enjoyable.
And you'd think people would realise there's something wrong when like 50% of the suggested content is "Hey, why not lvl yet another class?!"
This brings up a good point. If you're leveling a different class but doing the same fates/repeatables zerg grinds and all, does it count as new content? Or only a certain percentage? Maybe all this so call "plenty of content" is all an illusion.
(Note: I take your post as an example, don't take it personnaly when I'll say "you". It's just easier to generalize and get people more involved. Also, I will be speaking about PvE content, not PVP.)
There is no problem not doing the things you don't want to do and claim that "you're done". This is totally valid. You should not be doing it if you don't like it.
You're implying that "I'm done with the content I enjoy to do", and this is a completly valid point. Not everyone is a masochist.
But this is missing a point: the true problem is people who expect things to never end. They expect the "end game content" to last forever.
Like this guy, posting something earlier in the thread which sounded like this: "I played for 3 years and now there is nothing interesting for me to do! This is unacceptable!"
Really? Is it really unacceptable? I think not.
As I was saying in my first post here: some players want to clean the end game content in order to find some kind of "promised land". Guess what, there is none. You'll just clear the end game content until the devs release some more, and that's it.
There is no miracle there, you won't get instant fun if you finally grab the best stuff in the game. Santa won't cover you in present after you did everything you liked doing (even if you do the stuff you don't enjoy).
Even the film "The NeverEnding Story" has a end. Who knew? (Well, at least all the people smart enough to realize there is so much you can put on a VHS.)
Players should stop thinking that MMORPG = endless content. It's not.
Even with some kind of random generaded end game dungeon, you'll eventually loot every piece of gear and then be bored of it.
"Yey! I got myself the final gear I needed and cleared the final dungeon! Now what?" Now nothing. You got the final gear and you cleaned the final dungeon.
*Throws some confettis*. You're done. Wait for the next content update, or leave the game.
There is an end. Once you reach it, there is nothing else until next content update. Period.

I don't think this is the case here. Most players don't expect neverending content. Just the current amount of end game content is pathetic. They are pointing that out and being told that there's plenty of stuff to do which isn't the case. But this is missing a point: the true problem is people who expect things to never end. They expect the "end game content" to last forever.

WP - Speed runs is the most efficient way to get myths/philos making everything obsolete.
BC- weekly lockout that pretty much requires a static.
What else do you have to keep players busy except doing the same fate/repeatable grinds?

Boredom has been defined by C. D. Fisher[who?] in terms of its main central psychological processes: “an unpleasant, transient affective state in which the individual feels a pervasive lack of interest and difficulty concentrating on the current activity.”[3] M. R. Leary[who?], as well as others, they describe boredom as “an affective experience associated with cognitive attentional processes.”[4] In positive psychology, boredom is described as a response to a moderate challenge for which the subject has more than enough skill.[5]
Oh your right, because to get all the Darklight i would need to run AK like 5,000 times. So much fun!
Like I said, the choice is yours. You don't want to do it, fine. Just don't come back complaining that you're bored.
No matter how 1 slices it, there will be people that Only want to level 1 job get everything for it and stop there till more content is available. That doesn't mean the content is lacking, it's only lacking content because the other content you dislike you don't do. That's fine, just you have to give the game time to grow from launch. ( Like FFXI Japanese release, its was terrible and they had no forums to fall back on, and when the game reached USA with the expansion, it was like a different game :P.)
