Extremes aside. It would at least give us something to do, and at this point there's really no endgame so why let us get max level so easily?

They said you will need to quest for job abilities. Also as far as I know endgame (raids) should hit before job changes.

Many of us don't take the grind bait. When you feel like taking a walk in the mountains but can't go there, do you settle for running around your kitchen table for a few hours? I would just go do something else.

Lots of great games to play out there while SE puts 14 together.

Ahem, i'm far from saying that the news are true or confirmed (i've been the first to call it an unconfirmed rumor), but that's the FFXIV's section of 17173.com, which is one of the biggest chinese online gaming networks. You can easily compare it to our Zam.
While it's definitely not an official SE source (hence the "rumor"), it's not exactly a random chinese blog either. At the very least SE considers them reputable enough to let them interview Yoshida, looking at the site's contents.

not really i know how "/sea all" works it is isn't always the same or accurate. people are always loging in or off every second or keeping their characters loged in. You can never get an accurate number from it since it is always changing. The dev know more on how many accounts there are. on each server. A player would need to press that search every second all day for a month to get a mild accurate reading and that is characters not accounts. Not everyone plays all day, every day.

WTF. Jobs arent something to ASPIRE to, they are just a method of play. It's a way for you to PLAY a ROLE in a PARTY while you are actually DOING some CONTENT.

It's not another stupid, unfulfilling grind they are putting in place just so you can feel a FALSE SENSE OF ACHIEVEMENT because you have MORE PATIENCE than someone else.

Personally, like for me personally, there is nothing that would make me any angrier with this idea than if they made it another grind.

But I guess there's a reason FFXIV still has fans - some people just have OCD and need to grind. It's like in their DNA or something. LOL.

I'm not saying we grind forever, but we need long adventures. Something to show us that we're imperfect at the stage we're at, but we can get stronger under certain conditions we have to work through.
