There just isn't a reason to log into the game anymore for a lot of players. Yes, we are playing other games. Some may return for 2.1, some may not. There isn't exactly much in 2.1 to keep us around either, but we'll just have to wait and see. I guess it'll tide some people over for a solid month and then after the content is devoured through there will be even more drop off.

Consider all the things that have been accomplished on even non-legacy servers:
-Binding Coil cleared
-All classes leveled to 50, with relic quest complete
-All crafting professions leveled to 50, with Luminary achievements
-All gathering professions leveled to 50
-Chocobo Level 10
-All 3 Grand Company rewards

There is just very little to do in the game right now, so people have no reason to log on.

edit: Point is not to say "these things are easy", but to say, if the fanatics have done all this, then even they've run out of things to do. The average player has a lot of choices in front of them but if none of them appeal to them, then they've run out of things to do too.

I personally can't wait for crystal tower and the other dungeons.

I still have a lot to learn, for example how to heal !! and also cant wait to start gearing my off jobs in CT gear for coil.

Unless you have leveled every job and played every boss snd dungeon as every job then I would still argue there is a lot of content out there to enjoy.

Speaking of problems of today - One of the major misconceptions of an MMORPG especially of this kind is thinking leveling is content. When you break down what's involved in leveling of the battle classes for example, you come to the conclusion of:

1. Behests the first time as repeating is a waste of time.
2. Guildleves.
3. FATE SPAMMMMMMMMMMMM
4. One time use dungeons as repeating can be a pain and lower exp turn out than FATE spamming.
5. One time use quests.

So you actually use up the majority of your "leveling content" for your first 50 barring you're not legacy (1.0).

This is such a bad excuse for a lack of content, "If you haven't beaten every aspect of this game as a BRD, BLM, WHM, SCH, PLD, WAR, SMN, DRG, and MNK you have no right to complain!"

You're forgetting 50 with all eight crafts, stat capping every single item for each craft, and getting the luminaries for each. Don't forget to complete your crafting log by making one of every item including over 100 2-star crafts costing you upwards of 50 million. Then you have to level the three DoL and get luminaries for all of them before you can complain about lack of content! Last but not least you have to earn the GC achievements for turning in 10,000 supply missions. It will only take you 2 years of logging in to complete them twice a day every day.



People enjoy different aspects of the game and shouldn't be forced to play parts they find boring. This is a GAME and its primary goal is enjoyment.

Man okay I am one of the ones still having fun in this game (apart from the fact that I find leveling up tougher atm due to the lack of people doing FATEs) but the argument people make against others when they say "You still haven't leveled every job" or "You only have one job leveled" is like..what? Why would you have to level more than one job if you simply dislike all the other jobs?

So if someone complains they are a little bored in real life you'll go all like "Well you haven't even tried skydiving yet!" ... like everyone HAS to skydive before they are allowed to be bored? LOL

You can say there is a lack of content you are intersted in but you can not pretend the content you dont paarticularly like is not there. I dont like fishing and dont intend to do it, however Im not going to pretend said content isnt there waiting for if I get super bored.

XIV isnt good enough to warrent paying for at this point, I may try it out in the future.. give it like a year or two for the DX11 update, PS4 version, first or second expansion packs.

PS4 came out it's normal to see a drop in population. Also there really noting much to do once you start doing coil beside trying to win turn 5 if you get that done then you just log in once a week then A make gil or B log off and play something else to next week.
