Well i guess to each his own.
After a weekend working on TT i dont need to faceroll WP to feel cool.
Evenmoreso on a game where gear is so easy to obtain its not really an e-peen thing anymore.

You're coming off as a bit of a jerk. I agree with Reslin, we play the game to progress our characters. If gear was capped per dungeon you'd be running the same dungeon at exactly the same power forever. You would never get that sense of getting stronger. Can you imagine if everywhere you went locked your level/gear in a normal RPG? That'd be terrible. People spend time leveling up in older FF games to feel stronger than the enemies they are fighting.
Gear is already capped per dungeon up to level 50. It works, and it would work past level 50 too.
Would you like to beat a lvl 30 mob with your lvl 50 weapon? If you dont, why would you want to run a lvl 50 instance in i90 gear?
You progress by clearing content not by repeating the same content with better gear.
Its funny because almost everybody whines about the game being too easy but when having to chose between an easy mode and a challenge nobody wants the challenge.

Scaling down ilvl90 is a lot stronger than level 30 gear. Besides, as per the dev team the real game starts after 50. When the only reward for completing content is better gear, limiting it immediately is a terrible idea.Gear is already capped per dungeon up to level 50. What are you going on about? A challenge by forcing me to be capped? There is no challenge in that. I have already beat the content. I already know the content. A challenge isn't "I hope everyone is as knowledgeable as I am in this instance." That isn't challenging that's just luck of the draw. If you cap people based on gear and everyone is knowledgeable it will be a one shot clear the only difference is that it'd take longer so you're essentially slowing everyone down. By the way the reason low level instances are capped in this manner and high level instances aren't is because the low level instances are supposed to be a tutorial preparing players for high level instances. This prevents a 50 from queing with a level 20 and soloing the instance preventing the level 20 from learning anything.
There is no challenge being scaled down. I repeat. There is no challenge. People know where to tank the final boss in AK to prevent everyone from being hit by his aoe. Everyone knows to break from the boss when he does said AOE to burn down the add. Everyone knows the pattern for demon wall. Everyone knows how to deal with the bee's. Scaling our gear down doesn't suddenly make us forget this information. You're just making the instance take longer.Bypassing ilvl sync could be allowed only if u give up ANY potential rewards. No monster loot, no treasure chests and no tomes if party dont sync. And no quest progression.
Want rewards? Take at least a bit of challenge. And have overgeared faceroll "fun-only". And no-sync option allowed only after u cleared instance with sync on.

A newbie will screw up the speed run if they don't know how to speed run. They'd have to be taught the process and successfully learn the process. Sorry you also missed the point. By being level 50 they already passed the tutorial.
The reward for progressing past an instance is better gear and becoming more powerful. So you progress your gear but not the dungeon you do?
I always thought that progression was about the level/difficulty of the instance. In WoW terms, a progression guild would push forward the Heroic raid until they beat it, only doing normal mode bosses if they're completely impossible with current gear.

The real challenge is always the first time you're in a dungeon and everyone else in said dungeon is also new. I personally don't care if I join a speed run or not when I pug but I will care when I am asked to do speed runs with my static group and we're stuck in wp and ak for longer then we need to be.
It's not even just about e-peen. I don't brag about how "Fast" I clear a dungeon and I'm not one of those people who really care if my group messes up. What I do care about is progression. I don't want to just play barbie dress up. I want to see character improvement. I want to feel more powerful as I get new and better gear. This was actually a huge complaint with Elder Scrolls oblivion in that everything leveled up with you and the first mods out rectified this. I play mmorpgs to get gear and become stronger then use that stronger gear to get better gear and become even stronger. In fact, it annoys me I can't "choose" to do an earlier instance without scaling my level down. One of my favorite things in other mmorpgs is to take my current gear to earlier instances to see if I can solo it and sometimes even provide my own challenges.
I prefer freedom over restrictions.
