Do they even call it AF+1 though? I mean for all we know they are considering the Myth armor to be AF and the set we get before that old AF cause that's what it is isn't it?If it did not matter, then why bother to make your comment? The player base will use what ever terminology it wants (correctly or incorrectly). If the developers call the mythology armor +1, then it is technically +1 and everyone calling it AF2 is incorrect. There wouldn't even be a debate had the vendors simply called it "Draken Armor +1" like it renames the Gae Bolg to Gae Bolg +1.
Yes. However it's not contextual in the game and AF +1 doesn't roll of the tongue as easy as AF2. From a tiered perspective, it's understandable why people would call the mythology gear AF2 when it's basically reskinned affinity armor with updated stats.
Edit : I have nothing to gain by lieing to you or others. To quote the X-files, "The truth is out there."
Error 3102 Survivor
I'd agree except that concept art for the new AF (completely new model) shown in one of their videos was blatantly labeled AF2. It may all be player labeled, but having a actual second set that looks completely different would be better labeled AF2 and the sets we have that look the same with better stats are would be better as +1. I don't think a texture swap is enough to consider it a completely different set of AF over just a +1. That may be me though.Yes. The worst part about the head isn't the ridiculous fins that instantly made me feel like a late 50s Cadillac.
It's not that it's the same armor I got at level 25 for my job quest, spray painted black with a red cross on the knees / shoulder.
It's not even the fact that I just don't care for that heavy model nearly as much as I do, say, the model the the base bronze armor set is based on...
It's the fact that somehow, some armor smith out there is cranking out full body armor with a nonfunctional neck. My tank is either aiming via echolocation while staring off to the right, or he's looking through his left earhole inside his immobile suit of armor.
Yes that is the point I am trying to convey.
OH now, don't get me wrong. I got the reference. I even took an Art History Course in Arms and Armor. It just breaks with the rest of the game too much as a FANTASY game, especially with the lack of effort put into it.I agree with OP. It's kinda ugly and doesn't have any other variations of design. It's essentially "TANK gear", so it's like climbing into a tank to serve that function... the bottom is legs+feet and the top is body+head(w/o the option of making the head invisible?). Needs some work for real, i really avoid this gear even if I was returning to my pld or war.
I haven't done the math(god I hate it) but does the stats really mean better if you divided by 4 than from other individual gear?
You can just sense the DEVs designing a body piece that says," climb in, but you can't equip head, hands, legs or feet".
Well now i know where they got the bird-looking head piece from. It's original medieval armor.
This, this and more of this. The worst part about the head isn't the ridiculous fins that instantly made me feel like a late 50s Cadillac.

No, because you're a tank. You get instant queues, and can farm up 1320 in half the time it takes a DPS to get 825. Deal with it.
The biggest issue with the Heavy Darklight is the only crafted alternative is Heavy Darksteel, which also can't be split into helm/chest and pants/boots. This really screws over tanks that are trying to break their HDL with Myth/Allagan gear, whereas every other class can replace the non i90 slot with an i70 crafted item.
