Ive played MMO's for many years and this is the first game where *tells* have been disabled for dungeons. By disabling *tells* this game removed the social aspect and made it more a single player game. Sure there has been the occasional death because someone was chatting but that is part of being social. They could just as easily be distracted while chatting to someone in rl so chat death can still happen even with *tells* disabled.

No, FFXIV doesnt have the hardest dungeons ever created in a MMO and we managed to handle *tells* and playing in those games Communication is probably the biggest reason I got sucked into playing MMO's and to me it is sad that a large feature of the game has been removed.

I find I spend many hours a day wandering around the world doing mundane stuff and most of my friends are unavailable because they're in dungeons. We all play differently and at a different pace so for me the *tell* limitation makes FFXIV a very lonely and at times boring game.

For people who do not want this feature because they don't want *tell* spam its very easy they can simply disable it in options. They get to play the game how they want and us chatters also get to play the game how we want. Not wanting a feature because it doesn't suit your playstyle is selfish. Imagine if in real life we all had to ride bicycles because one person didn't like cars
