2.1 is going to be when I decide to renew at 6-months or drop the game for a year. This and other QoL issues are top of my list in the evaluation of that decision.

I can't believe the developers have no plans to let people mail stuff between alts. That is absurd. Do they really think it's going to hamstring RMT? It is very clearly not effective in preventing RMT. It is only effective in pissing off players with alts.
Pretty sure RMTs ask you to befriend them in order for them to send you gil. And it's not hard to trade directly. All this does is prevent legitimate players from having mules in a game that offers multiple characters for subscription that is currently only servicing one type of player: RMTs. Hear that NA team? I would very much appreciate that little tidbit being directed to Yoshi. I also want to meet the surely large crowd of players who are creating multiple characters to play all of them just cause it's really fun to start your progress over on another character.
This.
The present inability to mail to alts is both unacceptable and also costing the developers money. Why should I pay for extra character slots when I can't mail to stuff to alts if I use those extra slots?
Honestly, I'd probably not have any reason to play this game until more content is added if not for my alts. I can only tolerate short doses of the endgame treadmill before I get bored outta my mind, so I decided to make alts to fulfill certain gathering roles and to see the story that I love from slightly different perspectives. (Literally, seeing it from lalafell and roe perspective puts a whole new angle on it.)
Having to pester friends to be a middleman when I want to make gear or food for them is problematic and irksome.
Solutions: Have characters on the same account automatically appear on the friend list, or allow us to add offline characters to it. I see no reason why one or the other shouldn't be possible.

Probably it's made this way so you cannot bypass the character limit on storage and market board slots.
Honestly, who cares?
This aspect kinda boggles my mind coming from SE. In FFXI they did a lot to help you with alts. They even allowed you to mail rare/ex items to alts to save on space. Those alts could just as easily sell which bypassed the AH slot limit in that game, too.
Absolutely ridiculous they won't let you do that here.
Well, if they don't have plans to change the mail system, maybe they can change the stupid Friend Request system to allow you to send them to people who are not online. Then we could add our alts to the friends list and send them mail.

Good lord, what's the point in letting us have 8 characters per server if you're just going to restrict our ability to play them?
This response will get no 'Like' from me, Hvinire.
