I was in WP using DF and the Random WHM started doing that. On the 4th time my wife the Warrior just let the WHM die.

I personally don't care if I do the run in 15 mins or 35 min. I'm not in a rush.
For everyone that is doing there speed runs in 15 mins and after 2 hours of game play have nothing to do for the next 5 days. I log in 4-5 times a week normally all day on weekends. so 2-3 times in the week for 2 hour. I never run out of stuff to do.

By the time I do.. There will be more stuff to do.

Sometimes a DPS runs past me and pulls them, which is a royal pain since I'm in mid mark and have to switch hot bars and then wade in flashing my butt off...

I keep saying I will adopt the "you spank it, you tank it" point of view, but so far haven't, perhaps I should...
No offense taken, however I only do it in lower level dungeons like Stone Vigil.

Here's a problem I have when I'm playing DPS: queue times take too long. I play on Tonberry, so I queue up for JP as well, despite not speaking a word of Japanese myself. This is pretty much the only way I'd be able to queue on a lower level dungeon without having to wait 2 hours.

Lack of communication, etc. In one of my Stone Vigil runs, the tank actually asked the healer to mark, and the healer was like "do it yourself it's your job", even to the point where the tank was begging someone else to do it (I have no idea why, so don't ask me). So in the end, I just took it upon myself to do the marking for him.

I'm guessing they stand around not to mark targets, but just wondering whether everyone else is ready to go in. Since there's sometimes a communication barrier, so nobody knows what the tank is thinking/saying either.

Obviously I don't do this when I'm running higher level dungeons.

Also the "you spank it, you tank it" approach didn't work for me on one occasion: on my first time running Halatali. I had a PGL who went in and aggro'ed everything, and was somehow able to tank 3 mobs, with help from the healer of course. There are times this approach backfires.

^ I wouldn't say that's backfiring so much as it is proof of concept. If you, as a DPS, really think you can tank a mob, then by all means grab it.

No, the one deciding whether or not a person can be a tank or not in a certain situation is the healer.. they are aware of the damage some wanna-be tank is taking. Often times the wanna-be tank has no clue.

OP, you'll find the level 50 dungeons are not nearly as fun as what you experienced while leveling. I leveled the same way as you and it was great. But at level 50, 85% of the people want to attempt to slam the content down as fast as possible with a speed run - even when some group members are under-geared, or inexperienced.

It's like this because Squeenix has everybody grinding AK and WP like monkeys every week for Mythology/Philosophy tombstones.. that combined with the fact that many players are selfish assholes.

In short doing dungeons for many people is now like doing a job. The good times of leveling from 1-50 in dungeons are basically over for you.. Welcome to the Machine.

What a lengthy post, and topics changed a lot.. anyway just to clear some unanswered question.

It's because sometimes they change their jobs outside a town before zone in dungeon, and all their skills are on cooldown...

Warrior use a lot of TP, period. If a warrior is not experienced enough, he will. Even an experienced WAR will still run out of TP if chain pull non-stop. But from your post, i guess he spent all his TP to overpower...

Any suggestions out there to better denote/mark or do anything at all for highlighting fight target? I get so tired of going to the trouble of marking primary target and damage dealers completely ignoring it and doing their own thing. It feels sometimes like I need a flashing disco ball to drop atop a mobs head to make the party focus. Is any one target icon more noticeable/better responded to over others? If I put in a short message with an <se.#> call in on target swap, people complain about chat log spam and annoyance, of course. I've even tried emoting at the target mob, but mid battle I don't honestly expect most to catch that in log and is mostly me venting at that point. In parties with a few of my friends, I know they do it cause they think its their purpose to challenge me and give me a hard time, so I can't do much about that. For the rest of the average DF populace though, what can I do without hopefully being too harsh on folks? I see this most often with bards and dragoons, but I also notice it with SMNs, and I don't know if its intentional or lack of pet control.

Just number the targets. If someone doesn't target the targets in order, tell them to do so. If they still don't, don't stress yourself out trying to fix stupid.

For Summoners I believe they have some AoE DoT skills. Unless you are using Flash from time to time to keep the aggro on your non-targetted mob, chances are the SMN might take the aggro from you. Happened to me before.

Nah I can tell the difference between DoT damage and a pet actively hitting a non-marked target.
