It's not AF2. Yoshi already told us that AF2 is coming later.Well simply because AF1 is the 1st version given by the WAR NPC, and AF2 is the 2nd version of the AF which you get with ToM, you did not upgrade your AF into a +1 like you phisycaly upgrade a normal relic into a +1 Relic, thats were is the difference..
In FFXI AF1 was the one of the job quest, AF2 was the one from Dynamis, AF1+1 was the quest AF augmented to +1, AF2 +1 was the Dynamis AF(2) augmented. Anyway... carry on >.>.
On topic: I hate the DL tank/DRG look. Allagan and Myth gear all the way.

Well its not an AF(+1) either as it was not phisicaly augmented by any mean.
If you have an elitist play style and you want everything now then its a problem. What does play style have to do with the fact other classes get to use their upgrades straight away while others have to wait for 2 upgrades for it to even FEEL like an upgrade. If and upgrade just puts you on par with what you had before, it's not an upgrade, it's not a play style, it's not a choice. We're pigeon holed into holding out for 2 pieces to feel the upgrade of 1 for >4< of our slots, it's just shitty design all around.
If you have a relax play style and you don't mind waiting then its not a problem.
Casual/relax play style <-> Elitist/QQ play style. So yes its more or less a question of play style, I never follow the crew so I care less. Waiting 2 weeks for a new piece of gear is not that much of a problem. We have been waiting for month for an AF2 to drop in Dynamis @ FFXI back in the time.

Having seen all Live Letters, reading all Letters of the Prod., reading basically all Interviews I must have missed exactly that little info, that AF2 is supposed to be a different armor coming in the future...
Links please. Otherwise I will refer to Myth gear as AF2 til proven otherwise, cause that's how it was called in XI and it even had the exact same names...(AF1 for PLD was called Gallant ... and AF2 was called Valor... in XI, same for Fighters and Warriors AF and Wizards/Sorcerers etc etc etc...)

I don't have the time to find it for you, but it was stated in the video found here. AF armor : level 45, 50 class quests
AF +1 armor : bought with mythology tomes. AF armor slighty reskinned
Allagan armor : drops in Coils
AF 2 armor : Not released yet.
Yup. Some pics are out there for Dragoon AF2 and Bard AF2 (both are concept art, subject to change just as the helmetless purple geared warrior pictured in this thread a few pages back).

OMDG RED!! I LOVE YOU Developers for this!!!

Do you know that to apply the +1 term, it has to be augmented in a way like Relics. The AF you get from the quest is not augmented to become a +1 when you aquire the ToM one, its a totaly different armor set.I don't have the time to find it for you, but it was stated in the video found here. So at this point it does not really matter, no one is right & this argument could go forever.
Btw, ty to the person who submited the link.

They should be called AF2, as +1 is always Augmented version of previous version. Its been pointed out, but its the same with Relic weapon. +1 versions have *always* had +1 in the name as well in FFXI. So my hat goes to AF2. This is all side convo and just funny to me though. I've seen the pics, and honestly I don't care either way. I've actually started calling them "Myth gear" or by their names (Valor hands, blah blah). So lets all meet in the middle and call them what they are, Myth gear, instead of being lazy and Typing AF2 or AF+1, to save a space or two in words.
Back to the actual subject, Darklight doesn't look bad, except for the obvious helm. I wish they'd let us take it off as an option. Its stupid to be forced into wearing. I would be able to live with it aesthetically, but the real issue is the gear replacement. This is such horrible design. SE, please please please do something about this. At least with casters they have a Vanya option to place in slots they get coil drops for. It is so dumb that anyone should have to drop to ilvl60 just to wear an upgrade. Give us some options, or just give the helm/body a disconnect option (split stats accordingly) for the slot you want to keep.

If it did not matter, then why bother to make your comment? The player base will use what ever terminology it wants (correctly or incorrectly). If the developers call the mythology armor +1, then it is technically +1 and everyone calling it AF2 is incorrect. There wouldn't even be a debate had the vendors simply called it "Draken Armor +1" like it renames the Gae Bolg to Gae Bolg +1.Do you know that to apply the +1 term, it has to be augmented in a way like Relics.
