Sorry, but battle input can be given without adding Auto-Attack. They could remap the chat mode so that it doesn't affect the keypad (movement) and the number keys (actions). Then there is the option of VoIP, AA is a cheap cop-out, nothing more.1: Auto Attack is being implemented because as a social game it's hard to be social when all activities in the game require constant battle input. Battles will be moving to a more tactical aproach and being reactive than being just active.
2: Positioning may still play a roll in not only emnity gain "frontal attacks gain more emnity?" but just because we currently don't have the abillity to move while attacking does not mean it will not be implemented with animations to boot.
3: Nobody does, the update wasn't meant to give you a picture book with instructions, but to give you some information on what they are working on.
Players: "We want more information! We want responses from the Development Team!"
Community Team: "Here is some more information and responses we got from the Development Team."
Players: "These responses are not the responses we want! Don't bother giving us answers when we ask for them!"

Just a little upsetting that we are shown questions that we asked as soon as the forum came out. Why it's annoying is somewhere there was a statement about there being more than one team, while the general focus is the battle system other teams are supposed to be working on other things.

I've no idea what causes it. Most of the time they're just out by 3-8 seconds but it seems to get worse the longer the game has been running. Logging out and back in doesn't fix it either, I have to completely shut down the game and restart it.

The fact of the matter is that people want to see some sort of acknowledgment, whether the answer is short and simple or they actually have enough info to provide.
Its more about the acknowledgment when it comes to the Reps <-> Dev Team relationship. If the Dev team had more to say about certain things, I'm sure they would have told us.
Remaping the keys would do nothing to combat that between every 3 letters typed you are mashing 1-1-1-1 AA is not a "Cheap cop-out" just because you feel mashing your fist into your keyboard somehow makes the game more "Active" you are fooling yourself.
AA has it's issues as well though, personally I find them far less anoying than manual attack. Main issue being the abillity to stop attacking on a dime in situations such as reactive mob skills or crowd control situations. Speeding response time to go into passive mode would fix this for the most part.
AA and Manual attack have there ups and downs, the population is leaning towards Auto Attack and so it shall be. Don't cry and call it a "Cop-out" just because you don't like it.
