We've been over this - This isn't WoW, GW2, SWTOR, Tera, Knight Online, (Korean MMOx20) either yet XIV plays exactly like them in many regards. It's more along the lines of content that isn't designed for one use like a lot of XIV's content is currently.
you mean a MMORPG that plays like other MMORPGs!? madness!
wait this plays exactly like Tera? what is this???!??!?!?!? I'm guessing that you haven't played Tera... or GW2... or WoW for that matter since you compared them.

and how many topics have you seen in the past that were titled 'things from SWTOR we want to see in FFXIV' if I may ask?
(considering I still play said game it wouldn't take me too long to come up with a few, however I realise this isn't the place to ask for it since everyone hates TOR by default)
But all of those MMOs are either 3rd/4th gen MMOs, or kept innovating themselves to stay current with end game.
FFXI is a copy of a 1st gen MMO (EverQuest), and no one uses those ideas anymore. We've grown past them.
That doesn't mean that 1st gen MMO's didnt do something right. If they didn't do anything right then MMO's wouldnt have become so popular. Obviously we haven't "Grown past" them, because people are asking for things that were in 1st gen MMO's again. So far the amount of "Lack of Content" "Beat game in a few days now nothing to do" and "Please lets have more content like XI cuz it was a long lasting game and felt fulfilling" Threads on the forums have been ever more increasingly about those topics. Also the highest liked question on the forum: General Questions for Letter to Producer live, IS specifically about when they are going to add content that is similar to XI.
I'll post it for you to see here and so that people can also like this too, so we can hear an answer from Yoshi so he actually considers it. --->>> LINK <<<---
