Where have you been? lol, thats exactly what they are going to add.SE just needs to implement a completion bonus for those who queue up for the in demand class. So there should be a icon near each instance that indicates a shortage of heals or tanks and if you queue you have a chance for bonus exp, gil or say tome drops on completion of the instance. This won't totally fix shortages but will help queue times a bit. As well it should encourage tanks or heals not to bail mid instance.
Even with duty finder roulette, most if not all level 50 players wont want to go back to a level capped dungeon (at least everyone I have spoke with). The rewards wont be worth the effort and the time it will take to complete players will most likely avoid seeing as WP is a 12 min run.
Join a group in progress like I do.
If I don't like the group I can cut out a huge fart and disappear.![]()
Don't know if this is a server issue but there seems to be thousands of tanks over on Odin, you'll run into at least 30 shouting in mor dhona and running around in allagan/af+1 per hour. Started using my Monk in AK runs to change it up a little and ques are popping for me instantly.
I tank all the time for tome farming. Why not with the insta-queue?
Lockout on weapon changes?
*Rolls DPS*
*Changes to crafting job to make armor for DPS class.*
*Unable to change back to DPS class due to lockout.*
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
I believe he's referring to the 'triad' of dps, tanks and healers.
virtually every mmo I've ever played has this system, where if one of these elements is not present, the entire game falls apart
groups without a tank generally don't get very far
tanks without healers generally don't last very long
tanks and healers can rarely complete a dungeon/fight without dps to speed things up before mechanics become overwhelming
are there exceptions to this, even in this game? yes
however the game was designed with the dps/tank/healer triad in mind, and it generally flows smoother when all elements are present.
there is NO way that SE, or any developer, can fix the 'tank problem'
this is entirely a playerbase issue. if you want more people to tank your dungeons, then YOU need to change your attitude.
stop being a douche to tanks, and there will be more of them.
any 'tank shortage' is ENTIRELY YOUR fault
No, this is a horrible idea. That concept of farming on other jobs is one of the great strengths of the armory/multi job system.Any currency of tomes you aquire should be only allowed to be spent on the job/role you did the runs for.
Are you suggesting that we shouldn't be able to pre-gear a job we're levelling up with another one already at 50? Go away, back under your bridge preferably.
People can't do their roles correctly, Is it so hard to fight mobs in order when they are marked 1/2/3? Hell my youngest kid knows 1-10. Some people should go back to PreK and learn their numbers. Why some DPS choose to fight mob marked 2 or 3 and not 1 IDK.
Not going to speak for the tank I just did AK with, But as a PLD myself the reason why we don't have so many Tanks is because of crappy DPS (not their actual DPS) that can't do their jobs. Just did AK with my MNK A BRD/WHM/PLD the WHM kept trying to do the PLDs job and pull mobs and then wanted to fight a different mob other than what me and the tank was on. Long story short he died like 3xs lol.
The biggest reason is the lack of respect tanks get. I was running WP today and in the beginning the first two tomeberrys me the heal and one DPs were fighting them the other DPs runs into the next room and pulls the next group so I have to drop what I'm doing to save this one guy which gets our healer killed. In the next area he does the same thing but this time instead of me saving him we decide to let him get what he deserves. After he dies he warps to start runs back bringing tome berry with him and gets himself and the other DPs killed so me and the healer decide to wipe and regroup. I tried to ask him to slow down and wait for the group and that's when he exploded. I am so glad that my children are not old enough to read.
So now I have a new mind set of where I rarely use the DF and when I do if the dps run ahead of me that means they wanna do my job so I will let them
