I work noon to 8 pm, east coast (EC), I don't think I'm out of line when I say that I speak for the working class and people attending classes. I don't know how it is in Japan but here in America, we work when it's time to work and stroke our Pokemon on our own time..

In times of 1.x we had maintance in the EU around 9pm to 1am. That was prime time. They did maintance and it had to be done. I was fine with that, i just played another game or got to sleep.

US have servers very close to them, therefore having low delay.
EU has no maintentance in their prime time.

This is only partially true. Only half the US (probably more like 1/3 actually) are close to the servers and have low delay. Those of us in states like California are on the other side of the continent and have hug delay issues. (They put the NA servers on the east side of Canada).

Since FF14 does not have any meaningful presence in Korea, the market of MMORPG that's relevent to it is NA > EU >>>> everything else. This is simply how the MMORPG players are distributed across the world. The patch time doesn't favor NA, and it doesn't even seem to help EU very much. If anything, that only guys that it really helps appears to be the Japanese, who are irrelevent in the grand scheme of things when it comes to MMORPG market. When Koreans complain anything about WoW, Blizzard definitely listens. Since FF14 does not have Korea as a counterbalance, NA is the center of SE's world.

When doing business with China, the place I worked at have people staying late so that we can call them at their prime time. By some fan's logic we should've just told the Chinese guys to call us when it's midnight there so that it'd be prime time for us. NA does not need FF14, but FF14 definitely needs NA unless they don't care about money.
