jobs are for partys , classes to solo or hybrid players :P
What makes you think that Black Mages won't be able to heal themselves? According to how Jobs were described, equipping a job shut out access to some of the other classes abilities. That's some, not all, and not the class you are on. I don't know about anyone else but it seems logical to me that Conjurer is going to unlock Black Mage. Conjurer's have the cure spells. Don't exactly see SE locking out your own classes abilities.

Where I think people are getting confused here is they are thinking jobs replace your class. Not according to how they were described. You are still a Conjurer when you go Black Mage for a party. You just have the Black Mage job equipped.

Think of the XIV job system like a subjob in XI. Your main class doesn't change and that is where the majority of your abilities come from. The sub job, or the "job" of xiv, just enhances the strengths of your class. So to use the example above, it would be like a Conjurer/Black Mage if this were XI's system instead of XIV's.
