The Solo disease?

(ran out of room) I am not stupid, or have minor reading skills. Just something do not come to me as easily as the rest of you guys. My brain is not wired like everyone elses here. That is the lamens/laymens (sp?) explanation of how ADD is.

As for parting with me, or me being the reason you solo. This is unfounded, and a rude thing to say. You guys do not know me. And to cast judgement on me by your understanding of my posts is actually pretty rude in itself. Here is a suggestion. Do not judge people based of forums. Forums always bring the worst out of people, because of the need to comment (joking or otherwise) and to be brutally honest.

A suggestion to everyone, learn to get to know people by asking questions, do not misunderstand how a post is written and go ape on said poster. Like get to know people and how they play. Do not force a person to play differently, or hate personaly for it. But people have a right to an opinion. Good or bad.

If I hated solo'ers, that is a big IF (meaning i do not), if I hated them. It is with in my rights to. Just like someone can hate groups, or dislike grouping up.
I have a blunt question to you, thedevilsjester, to better understand your side, why do you dislike grouping? And why do you feel the same way and question why people group in mmo?

It's not really arrogance so much as you need incentives to group else why would anyone ever bother with it.

Oh I agree. I have stated a few times that I like it when games allow solo play but encourage group play. The only problem with this is that while they can encourage you to form a group, it won't change whether you like grouping or not (although repeated groups might change someones mind, or it might just cement the reasons that they don't like grouping in the first place).

Solo play should always be an option. There will be times you can't devote time to play extended periods or like yourself just have the preference to solo. Once that starts detracting from groups because they make design decisions to encourage soloing over grouping is where I have the problem.

I do not think they should ever try to encourage solo over grouping, but on the same page I do not want them to forget about soloists either. FFXIV has (with the content I have experienced so far) done a great job of this.

Even with poor grammar you should take the time to take a quick look over what you typed before you post it, otherwise I am afraid most people will not even give it a serious look if you don't at lease try a bit harder.

Last night, in an attempt to prevent the thread from continuing to decay in the back and forth between me and Kilta_Firelotus, I placed her on my ignore list. Nothing constructive came from that back and forth. I do not intend for this to be a "jerk" move, it is, in all honesty, the only way I can prevent being drawn back in. I say this only so that if Kilta_Firelotus is directing her posts to me (as it sounds like from this quote), please do not, as I am not reading them. If you are directing them at the general topic, by all means continue. I just do not want you writing tons of posts, wondering why I am not responding to you.

And I ran into alot of comments made by posters that TDJ twisted. He twisted most everything I stated. And now openly admits to have me on ignore. He stated his side in how people need to understand how or why soloist play. YET, he comes across as pretty rude. And when someone states their side, he jumps on it. Saying they are claiming that they are right and everyone is wrong. I just simply stated doing this is hurting what he wants to do. Sorry I do not defend a person who attacks people.
You guys tend to skim posts and not see certain things.
He presented his side of the story, and whywe should understand him. Posters have a right to say their side so he can understand them. If he wants to attack people doing so, why should anyone listen to him. If he can't or doesn't want to understand others, why should we want to understand him.
Also he should only speak for himself not. Not stand on a soapbox and be "voice of the people".

If he wants us to understand there are better ways to do it.

On that note why are you on a ps3 typing on a forum for final fantasy xiv.

I not trying to sound mean as I do understand that not everyone has a computer or the money to buy one however final fantasy xiv as far as I know only plays on the pc as of right now?

As for the topic on hand since it seems even I am starting to derail from it,as for my thoughts I still support soloing and what it allows me to do at my pace when I want to.

When groups stop having so many anti-social demanding people in the groups is the day I might consider grouping more often until then I will keep to myself on a majority bases as its more drama free to chat with people then it is to group with them.

Not to say there are not people that are drama kings and queens demanding the world in every party that want exactly what they want, but I have had my fill over the years with people that demand the world of me and ignore me if I don't give them exactly what they want so yes I tend to be turned off by groups in general and prefer to stick to soloing for the most part.
