Cure on Pld is a waste of mana
Cure on Pld is a waste of mana
You know what's awesome? When you wipe because a healer disconnects every 30 seconds over a 5 minute spawn and you suddenly don't have heals. He gets back on and says "Sry guys, my internet is horrible"
When you look over at the people you just queued for a primal fight for, and they are using a pink ilvl 40 weapon, and your team fails every dps check...
When people don't bother to learn anything about the fight ahead of time, anything at all, and then expect you to essentially carry them while they observe...
All of these actions are incredibly inconsiderate. They are one jerk gamer taking time away from 7 other people's lives because they don't want to come prepared to play on a team in a team game. Don't be surprised when having to deal with this crowd results in elitism between the folks who are actually considerate of others and prepare adequately for encounters.
So what do you think you are entitled to get carried when you lag and cant do 90% your job.Gear and experience issues aside, I saw someone chat spamming for a group today that had the most awesome stipulation ever. He was asking for the usual gear/experience requirements, but then he added "And if you may experience lag problems, don't apply."
Seriously people?
Considering how easy most fights are, dps can do 90 percent of a healer's job- by avoiding damage.
With a few exceptions, if everyone is actually playing well, there isn't THAT much healing needed.
My first couple times through AV, Prae, CM, I went with unexperienced/less geared groups.. We died a lot, learned the fights, had a good time and cleared the fights. Honestly the gear requirements for this content is very low. Due to the way token farming is structured, we will be running through these dungeons for a good long while in the future (although now the flavor of the month dungeon seems to be WP). Am I an unexperienced/less geared player? No, not anymore, I have progressed through that. So I group up with similarly geared players to ensure the fastest clear time possible to get through the mindless grind of these simple dungeons for my weeks tokens. As for new players that are unexperienced/less geared. You may now be in a situation where it is hard to get groups with others unless they are similarily unexperienced/less geared.I don't see this as unfair, anyone that is now experienced/geared probably went through a similar experience. What would be weird is if the majority of geared experienced players, started to look to group with the fresh 50s. This is not a matter of "leetism" it's a matter of players grouping with similarily geared/experienced players, as you move to a higher level of (gear) progression you will naturally find yourself grouping with others from the same tier of progression.
It only affects people if they are too lazy to start their own group. People on my servershout for WP/AK NON SRs w/o any Relic/Full DL requirements every now and then and usually once they shouted it takes less than 2mins for them to get a group going, cause there are a lot like-minded people.
It's all those "I don't have the gear everyone shouts for, so I will go on the forums and cry about it" instead of just shouting for a group with your own requirements, that makes it hard for you.
Just today after reset I saw people shouting for Coil Turn 1 with the specific requirement that it is a group to LEARN Coil Turn 1. Took them 20minutes to get the group full and going. They might not Clear Turn 1, but they sure as hell got into it and got "experience".
use DF why is this a problem
people set the bar when they make the party that is how it works
go to sleep OP your drunk
The problem i have been finding is when this attitude flows into the duty finder.
As far as im concerned when i queue for titan i expect people who have never done it before, i am prepared to deal with problems as i am also joining to learn the fight. a win here would just be a bonus.
so to wait in a queue to then enter the fight and have the tank exclaim to another member 'OMG fail group don't bother coming back until you have the gear cya' is not fair on the new players coming to learn the fight.
and if you want to do a pick up group put the gear requirements in your shout, i joined a group who shouted 'LFM 2 DPS WP' i joined and was kicked out without a word said, no 'sorry we need relic' or 'sorry you dont have the gear' just booted. and when i asked i was ignored.
Safe to say i will never party with that person again or anyone with that attitude, what goes around comes around and it would be nice to not have this crappy attitude.
This.
If you are a legitimately high-end or hardcore player -- or even a player with a discerning eye -- there is one thing you quickly realize: there are hardcore players, and then there are tryhard/posers.
Tryhards are the players that demand ridiculous overgearing to clear trivial content 10 seconds faster.
Hardcore players are the ones who can actually perceive skill, and are willing to run through Chimera-Titan in an hour to help gear you up. They realize that gear is nothing up front and is the easiest thing to improve if necessary. They realize that a player who's never done a fight before can still do well if they are good. They're willing to find good players.
I've found that FF14 seems to have way more tryhards than other MMOs. It's probably related to the whole FF11 and single-player-RPG history of the game.
If I join an FC or a group and they inspect gear and then filter immediately (unless the gear is really, really, really far off), I know they are bad. It's how it is.
