Agree with your general sentiment here, but pre-coil at least I expect a good healer to be doing this without sleep. Sleeping just wastes my time because I have to take scorn out of my rotation and it's not on GCD, so my dmg output is lowered, the DPS' aggregate DPS is lowered, and healing got easier...but it wasn't hard in the first place except on some specific speed run pulls :P

True, it's situation dependent, depends on whether you are PLD or WAR, and also depends on what job the healer is. Also that statement was made on more of a random party assignment basis, where cohesion and the guarantee of a geared party is sketchy to say the least. It's then that I tend to make more requests. With a predetermined group on entry - you can be much more confident that everyone knows their roles in the group.

Another point is that the sleep statement was also made due to my past several runs in WP. Being able to sleep the groups before the first door and down the tonberry asap can save a hefty chunk of time with an under-geared group.
