Hide behind the terms of service all you like, I have said nothing about whether it's covered by the terms of service. It doesn't alter a single word I posted. Nor does it make it any more right that the same segment of customers is disadvantaged by their (SE) rather painful schedule.

Ya know, doing some number crunching, the maintenance time is actually well placed... for the average schedule mind you. Lets say average people are most likely to work/class from roughly 7am to 3pm (Again average, I work third shift so this isn't me I am arguing for) And the average person sleeps for 6-8 hours, often before work/class. Now, these average, assumed majority, players probably sleep starting at 10 or 12 to wake up at 6 and prepare for work, leaving a 7-9 hour window from about 3pm to 10pm or midnight. This means the maintenance clips the NA PST out of 2 hours of low end average person time, but becomes fewer as we move east. Now, lets look over seas. 8pm pst is 1pm in Tokyo (last hours of work + starting game hours), and about 5am in the middle TZ of EU (Yes, EU gets the best time admittedly). So by these factors, no one really gets hurt (in the bell curve majority anyway) more than anyone. We just happen to be up now, and are bored. That's really all there is to it ^.^

I work evenings and live a pretty much nocturnal life now due to it. However, in doing so I know there are many things I've had to forfeit, like most NA prime times (Coil run at 2am anyone?) and of course maintenance down time. I can accept it, everyone else life is on a different schedule to me and really I like it that way, but I do wish SE would do these once a week on the same day same time every time.

I'm actually pretty used to them doing it Monday night weekly now, not the best night for me but whatever. I understand the real emergency shut down with the hack earlier, but when we're getting off from work and looking forward to unwinding with FFXIV to see there is another maintenance going on it does get old.

I agree with the expect-able once a week idea. Though, to be selfish just a bit, can it be Tuesday? I work Tuesday from 10pm (8pm PST) till dawn, they can have that time slot every week to cut the servers, and I would smile. No offense to any this would mess with, but I can't see it being more disruptive than Monday over all ^.^;

In FFXI EU was constantly screwed in regards to ME times. Like many people have stated someone is always unhappy. Deal with it. You agreed to the terms of service. They are not trying to make you angry they are trying to give you the best possible product.
