and Death Knight in wow were sword and shield and so were Shadow knights in EQOA and The guy from Tactics used a sword and shield.

Seeing as Death Knights and Shadow knights have absolutely no relevance here, in game or in FF lore, then this point is completely moot. (and Death Knights use 2H weapons fyi. Unless trolling, then it's a terrible attempt.)
