What's up with tanks?

It takes something like 40 WP runs to fully darklight a job.

We can do that in 40 minutes each (normal pulls) = 1600 minutes which is... 27 hours or we can do it in 20 minutes (easily!) so half the time.

Great groups can do it in less than 15 minutes.

Sure, every once in a while, the tank might die and that sets you back 5 minutes, but it's worth it.

Don't blame the players for wanting a droll task to be faster, and more fun.

I think it's more along the lines that the good tanks have been scooped up by various fc's and groups of "friends". They don't need to run DF because they have everything they want/need already. And that is the proper solution to being stuck with idiot tanks constantly, find yourself a competent group and stop relying on randoms.

So long as the PT knows its a SR the tank should be running out in front. As a healer they should be following close behind and ready to Divine Seal + Swiftcast + Cure II > Regen while the DD's catch up and start burning down the group. A better healer can even after getting the Tank back up get a SS popped off > Cleric Stance > PoM > Holy spam > Shroud > Cleric Off > DS > SC > Cure II.

Its all in the group and rotations though....the Tank always plays the same way, if the AOE DPS is low...then the healer has to adapt and can't heal the same way.

Seriously...

Just go to revenant's toll and ask for a non speed run of wp. You'll find one just as quickly as using the DF most times.

Or join a FC who don't concentrate on speed runs.

you can thank the toxic community for this.. Filtered out all the good (to play and have fun) tanks and now your just left with the bad tanks.

Quite the opposite, the tanks who're making large pulls are typically veteran tanks looking to speed up the instance. However it's usually wise to check that your healer and DPS are also experienced before doing so otherwise they may not be able to keep the pace; or as in this case, assume the tank is the problem and not them.

I'm not saying I tank, or don't want to tank (I actually like Warrior a lot, but I've already geared other classes in Darklight for various reasons), but that this is the reason you are seeing more people playing tank like a DPS.

Yeah not big on FC's (bad guild experience in past from FFXI). Guess I am stuck with dealing with the bad tanks. Thanks for input guys!
