What's up with tanks?

Has anyone else seen this:
The past few weeks I have seen a trend where tank players have been playing with more reckless abandon than normal. Specifically, they run ahead if the rest if the party and throw themselves into groups of enemies without any regard for whether the rest of the party (especially healers) are even nearby. This results in one of two outcomes: healers have to spam heals causing aggro to shift to them (and their eventual death), or tank dies (which usually results in tank blaming healer).
When did this lack of strategy and teamwork with regards to tank players become a thing? Is this just a NA phenomenon? Is anyone else seeing this?

I started seeing it the second I hit level 50...tactics go out the window then in favour of speed.

you can thank the toxic community for this.. Filtered out all the good (to play and have fun) tanks and now your just left with the bad tanks.

Quite the opposite, the tanks who're making large pulls are typically veteran tanks looking to speed up the instance. However it's usually wise to check that your healer and DPS are also experienced before doing so otherwise they may not be able to keep the pace; or as in this case, assume the tank is the problem and not them.

Or Maybe you can thank SE for making this game a boring grind festival of stupid repeating tasks. So yeah after you clear AK and WP for 200 times people aint gonna waste their time in there when they can just go out in 8 minutes flat.

This has been the case since the dawn off MMo's, and this is not limited to tanks. Rule of thumb is follow tank...unless tells you he doesn't know where to go. And don't pull anything unless tank and healer are ready. Simple rules but often if not almost always ignored.

dont pull unless the tank tells you to pull
i pull for my runs, and unless i state i need you to pull i dont want you to

back to the OP, speed runs so many people are use to just rushing now that its becoming a norm for them.
are you doing shout PTs? or DF?
i do a lot of DF stuff and never expect to run speed runs for them, ill get it shout PTs for that, or go with friends

Most of the time when I decide to use the DF I am pretty much forced to run it as fast as possible because people cannot be slow otherwise they will die (or at least the way they react makes it seem that way). For a lot of tanks it's probably habit, fear of being the target for abuse or simply the bad tanks who are left because the good tanks prefer not to use duty finder. Being a tank really isn't an easy job simply because you take a lot more hate from the community all in the name of getting content done asap.

Since speed runs are possible people assume all parties are essentially just that. It's a bit annoying that every run now is a speed run lol. It's one of the reasons why I only play tank with my FC.
