Ps3 users severely hindered. no k/m support.. Any news on this?

The the ps3 is pretty much is max on the ram it can use for this game. This guys video will get your ps3 running pretty good and does a good job explaining why ps3 renders fates and stuff so bad. Square did a poor job on setting up the Hud for Ps3 users to get max performance.

The PS3 does not have the PC UI due to memory limits. Which is also why the PS4 WILL have it. There's not much they can do about it when the system is so starved for memory.

So because the PS3 has the bare bones of the game, and basically every aspect of the UI/controls that is necessary (well will as soon as focus target is added at 2.1 i think) and does not play with the PC controls (M/K) its a fail? plenty of PS3 players run coil each week and have no issues.

You do realize that a lot of PC players use a controller (because its easier and give us ready access to more skills without large movements of our hands), meaning it is essentially the same as PS3 but better graphics for the day to day play... yes the PC version has extra sidebars and such you can click with a mouse, but they are not that important. and all these extras are coming to the PS4. dont want to move to PS4 to basically play the PC version of the game, well get a PC. Buying a PS3 game and expecting to use K/M is a bit crazy if you ask me.

Ok, let me explain something to you, because you really seem to need it. Playing with a keyboard and mouse, THAT would wreck the game experience for me. I f'king hate having to use keyboard and mouse. It's unweildly and counterintuitive to me. When a game does not allow use of a gamepad I DO NOT BUY IT. There are those out there, believe it or not, who wholly prefer never to even touch keyboard and mouse controls. Were my PC able to play the game smoothly, I would play with gamepad only. On PS3 version, I play with gamepad and would NEVER use keyboard and mouse even if the option was there. Is it ruining my game. Not in the slightest. I quite enjoy it, and would never even use the option if it were available to me. You, are not everyone. Because something is good for you, does not make it the same for everyone. There are different people out there, with different ways of doing things, different likes, wants and desires. Blanket statements about how nobody can ever truly enjoy something unless it is done the way that YOU do it really kind of make you look like an idiot. Just FYI.

The ps3 is at its end when it comes to pushing limits with games, FF14 does that too. There is just so many things to load and honestly, square's inability to run things efficiently does not help either. There is a lot of optimization to be done, on the ps3 client before it runs smooth. In all honestly, I blame the beta period for that as it wasn;t until phase 3 that they allowed ps3. and then it only lasted like like 4 weekends and 2 in phase 4. thats roughly 20 days of testing.. barely enough to change anything.

However, I do not understand how your friends ps3 has issues loading fates. I play on ps3 and I can do everything just fine, the only times I have issues, is with the Behemoth / odin fates. and I am running a ps3 Fat 60 gb model from the very first days. (itt does sound like a jet plane taking off when playing ff14 though )

I totally agree with this. No idea why they'd put this out for ps3 when it runs so poorly on the console. I waited years for this game to come out for the ps3 so i could play, and for the product i got, i was very disappointed. I just wish they would have skipped the ps3 all together. I knew there would be limitations, like graphical and stuff but, even basic functions don't work well. Try doing fates around 7PM PST in the highlands on ps3 and tell me we got a fair deal.

i can play better than many PC players with PS3

the only downside PS3 got is overcrowded FATEs like odin u cant see target

other than that PS3 is perfect

I wouldn't say perfect, but it's definitely not as bad as people are making it out to be.

this was the main topic in my post though o.o dungeons are fine obviously with only 8 thigns to render, but compared to fates where they are done in 15 seconds opposed to the 15 minute timer it has.

If you really don't like it why are you or your friends still playing? I don't get this mentality that you have to play regardless of you enjoying it or not. You do not have to play.

Playing this game on PS3 is incredibly better by using an SSD. It's not unplayable to begin with the exception of fates but that is due to rendering times which is fixed with an SSD as it boosts loading times considerably. You can pick up a bargain and if you really insist on playing then it's a nice fix. If you want the PS3 version to be the PC version and don't plan on getting a PS4 then nobody can really help, it is how it is.
