For someone advocating "Speak for yourself", You sure do like to speak for the community.

The game needs things and the developers need the community. If it wasn't for passionate players demanding change, this game would still be on the same downward spiral that it was when released.

Your definition of "need" is flawed. FFXI survived 8 years without an official forum.
Why did XIV need one when XI didn't?

FFXI's launch wasn't a commercial flop so the developers needed to have closer contact with the community. Not to mention things were a lot different back then as to what the standard was for an MMO.

While this is true, who are any of you to say what this game needs? Are you a professional game developer for a triple A company? These very forums were created for suggestions and feedback, everything you post on here is a want and not a need, we do not need anything, not a single thing you post. Sure, this game may flop, but that is the point I am trying to make. Taking in suggestions is what is making this game turn out to be better, gradually.

Please don't tell me that things aren't needed, you can argue any and every suggestion on these forums is not something that is needed. Wants, not needs are what is going to make this game better. The only "need" is player feedback and suggestions.

This was to explain that even though need does not equal want, "wants" are what makes this game grow, and no single player posting on these forums has the right to tell me that my requests waste time or aren't needed.

You basically are saying that I said we need no feedback at all, which was actually the exact opposite of what I said!

can i ask you question? are you living in the pass? Let me tell you i dislike the forums because now SE would make the game on 30-40people on here and make it casual but i have hope that they make the game how they think it should be.

In FFXI time SE never listen to us and we live and enjoy that now when wow became main-stream everyone start coping wow and listening to there player base. But at least SE listen but does not give 100% what we want they make it there own version and add stuff that they think we need.

We ask what we want they think about it but at the end there not blizzard if SE was blizzard FFXIV right now be a wow-clone even tho they are adding dungeon/raids i wish the dungeon/raids is not the center of this game and the endgame is not base of that.

i still have hope for FFXIV and SE i hope they don't listen to everyone dumb needs and pick only the one that make sense for ffxiv.

Let me tell you i dislike the forums because now SE would make the game on 30-40people on here and make it casual but i have hope that they make the game how they think it should be.

Of course they will make the game how they see fit...but maybe they aren't making it how you see fit? SE hasn't really listened to many people on the forums to move forward with this game - hardly anyone said anything about a job system, hardly anyone said anything about the specifics of content (companies). They aren't "casualizing" the game, they are making the game they see fit for a profit, that's it. The forums are in place to take in some ideas, sure, but mainly the "givens" such as Chocobos (or mounts), such as "we want content", such as the small stuff like "fix the market wards"...but they aren't coming in here to do something drastic like full blown airship battles, for instance, unless they already plan on it. At the end of the day SE decides what to do with the game and the voice of a few gamers on a message board is hardly a catalyst.
