    Weapon drops will need to be adjusted for new jobs/classes

    Assuming that new jobs will equal new kinds of weapons (guns for muskateers, samurai swords for samurai etc), won't current dungeons and HM Primals just be absurd to get your weapon drop?

    Think of it this way; if there is suddenly 15 jobs that use different weapons, you then only have a ONE IN FIFTEEN chance of getting your drop. That can lead to people never getting their primal weapons, etc. The only solution I can think of is having a weapon/armor drops be completely dependent on what jobs are in the instance/party.

    On the other hand, you'd also see crazy things like 8 man whitemage parties for guaranteed staff drops.


    You already hear about how bad coil drops are (people keep saying MNK and DRG stuff drops too much, especially). Imagine when there's 4-5 more jobs that need weapons/gear. Yeeeesh. Even worse with a lock out timer.

    Haha, I only used that as an example. I'm sure DK, MSK, NIN, SAM, THF etc will all eventually be included. I just think gear drops will be ABSURD at that point.

    @Noahlimits of course they will put it in and it will have an equal chance as the other items to drop. Sure people will have many of those jobs leveled already, but the game will also have new players. You expect them to see the same damn item repeatedly just because it's new to most of the players? In your world someone still ends up on an unfair footing from the rest. The best way to handle it is as square has done so far. Make all drops equal chance.

    I think you misunderstood my original post; I'm saying it's bad enough to get a primal / gear drop that nobody currently in the party can use (especially with primals), and it'll be worse with new classes. I'm not saying new class/job drops should be dropped more often than any others.

    I don't really support this as sometimes it's nice to have a weapon ready and sitting for you there once you hit 50. I have like 4 each Ifrit and Garuda weapons I can't even use yet but eventually I'll be able to once my jobs reach that point. Besides, I think I've seen a weapon get needed more often than it going greed to someone else.

    not really liking the idea. if that happen then we will have ppl forming party with only certian, to gain max change to obtain that class weapon.

    But what about when you're trying to level your main and really want your weapon drop? If there's 15 jobs at the time, do you really only want a 0.0666666% chance (thanks for correcting my brain fart meow) of getting your weapon drop? That could lead to hundreds of runs before you might actually see your weapon. You may see a weapon get needed more often than greed, but I can assure that will chance when new jobs are added (basic math).

    What I said isn't the only and/or best solution to the upcoming problem; just one possible solution to even worse drop rates. Do you have another idea that doesn't require crafted gear?
