    This only happens when it queues you to choose "commence" or "withdraw" and only if you have it still on the screen when mining or trying to mine.

    I qeued up for DF, accepted my leves, went to the red map markers where I'm supposed to do them and tried to initiate them then got the message. I hadn't even taken my pickaxe out yet

    That is very strange, I have no problems doing so. I feel for you though, since typically that is when I mine, waiting for the DF. Maybe it is specifically due to the "leves". Try doing so with out accepting leves, grant it, I know you want to do the leves, but I am speaking of my issue and it was never with having leves up.
