    LOL no, but I was already at the cap when CoP came out and on top of not having WAR/NIN leveled prior because no one could have known what was useful in Promyvion before the expansion released, I didn't have a mule full of lowbie gear "just in case" SE threw me a curve ball like that. It was a stupid design, plain and simple when it was necessary to clear in order to access the uncapped content which made up the meat and potatoes of it. Zilart didn't have it, nothing that came after CoP had it, which leads me to believe SE felt the same way.

    That must have been a second adjustment after the first and most famous one. I did CoP after the first adjustment, and the zones and fights were still level capped.

    If you have any ability to look at the marketshare of the Genre, then yes, by and large people only want to play games that have modern MMO mainstays.

    The fact that you are unable to see this is mystifying, as it's common knowledge for literally 99% of those who follow the MMO Genre.

    The things that made FFXI awesome that should come to FFXIV:
    Nation rivalry for control of the map.
    More interaction with the authority and government of each nation.
    Dangerous non-instanced dungeons that can be used for leveling, exploring, farming, or housing giant monsters.
    Interesting equipment with ambiguous aspects (give people more to play with for discussion, theories, and personal preference)
    Monsters that will chase you clear out of a zone (not all, but some should)
    Player ability coordination (not skill chains, but something reasonably similar to reward extra coordinated efforts)
    Whole zones that you can only get to on foot or by chocobo.
    A central hub city.
    Small towns of people that have no affiliation with nations
    I think it would be awesome if they opened up another continent and all of the nation states started fighting over control of areas even within eorzea. The signet/conquest thing was a lot of fun and gave people extra goals and more national identity.
    Get the beastmen and the Garlicans involved too.

    Interacting with more with the civil and military authority on the nations would make them feel less like random gathering places and more separate from each other.
    Give us something to explore that's really dangerous. Add some places with level 60 or higher enemies so you and your friends have to go together. There could be some reward for getting there, or it could just be easy to spiritbond there. I'm thinking like the giant sandy tunnels in FFXI. Those places were amazing.

    Just...no. It's been said LOTS before, but the really dangerous places to explore are in the dungeons, and appropriately so. Those "giant sandy tunnels" in FFXI were trollbait and frequented by griefers by the dozen. Not everyone remembers them fondly...

    But if what you want are extensive tunnel networks you don't have to have a party for and that you can explore through which also have dangerous monsters but not unsoloable ones? Sure. That'd be nice. Also: if that's what you're into, go check out the Kobold tunnels in Iron Lake.
