+1 for class auto-switch. Folks who have a super long queue time really can't be expected to stand around doing nothing.

While I would like to see dungeon xp > fate xp only because dungeons are harder (not incredibly hard, but fates essentially require you to roll your face across your keyboard and the main challenge is in avoiding getting drool on your keys), if twice as much of the current population were running dungeons, wait times would be exactly the same. Changing the rewards will not magically make people who don't want to tank suddenly play a class they don't like.

As always the real issue is the lack of tanks. More people will still result in long queue times because the ratio of tanks to other classes will still be the same. If you're dungeon running for tomes, roll a tank alt for instant queue. If more people did this there wouldn't be as much of a problem. As for dungeons at lower levels, you're kind of screwed. You only run those once anyway though.

I totally support this; it would be enough to let you press the "Accept" DF button even on a different class and swap you to the queueing class/job automatically. Probably have a system to register Gear Set with Job so that in the accept process the designated gear set is used to get you changed. Easy solution to a huge issue, imho.
That could be troublesome. In order to change to a class/job you need to equip the weapon. That is usually done with your stored profiles.

Is the game supposed to know which profile or weapon you used when queueing? What would happen if the player had deleted the profile/weapon whilst waiting on DF?

I can see several problems that the developers decided to (lazily) sort by just forcing you to be in that class before clicking on Accept.

Like crafting, or fishing, or farming, or gathering?

There are things other than FATEs you can do to fill the time. I usually switch to gathering or farm mats for crafting.

I am glad so many people agree with adding some time to the "commence" part of the duty finder.... even if it were 30 seconds extra it would help A LOT.

Missed a duty again just now because I couldn't get away from Svara fate fast enough. 45 minutes down the drain and I also missed out on the 30,000 xp from the fate for leaving early and changing jobs

What WoW does works quite well, imo. If you click "Accept" and you're in combat, it will still let you join the party, but simply not teleport you into the instance. Instead, once you're out of combat, you just click "Enter Dungeon". The same thing could be done here with an option on the Duty Finder that says "Commence Duty".
