They have not taken that away. Its right there. You can use SCH and SMN but you just wont be as powerful as someone who mains it. This is ho it should be. you can also change stats with 10k points if you want to change your main.
Actually this is inaccurate as the game currently stands, ALL other classes have independent stat pools for allocation with the exception of SCH and SMN atm granted SCH and SMN are currently the only two jobs that stem from the same base class.
But the point still stands that all other jobs are free to swap without having to worry about taking a stat hit, you can go from PLD (VIT) to DRG (STR) to BLM (INT) and none of your stat allocations for any of those jobs would have a bearing on your choice to swap.
So no, saying "Thats how it should be" doesnt really hold any water until we see other classes develop into more than one job.
Oh and as a small additional note, the class system as current is one that grew out of the base that was made in 1.0, for example DRG was LNC 30 and PGL 15 to unlock while MNK was PGL 30 and LNC 15 to unlock. And yes while the two MAIN classes required to unlock the jobs were separate the requirements were near identical.. the point? Both DRG and MNK had and STILL have two different pools for stat allocation.
And in response to this, it seems a tad harsh towards SMN/SCH's to be the ONLY two jobs forced to spend points to have to play two different roles at their highest potential when once again AS CURRENT no other job is bound by this restriction.
Jobs* Or are you really going to argue semantics when you know full well what was explained and how the current system worksSCH and SMN are not classes.
so it is still true that every class have their own stats.![]()
