Yep.
It's just you.
Yep.
It's just you.
here is my opinion on the matter.
I used to be a hardcore MMO player. WoW, FXI, and LOTRO were all games that I played to death, and they will forever have a place in my heart. I can't play for 5-8 hours a day anymore. While I will agree that there isn't enough to do for that amount of time at end game (assuming from what people say) at this point in time, it is OK with me. It seams that SE has made FF12 into an MMO. A game who's content is as difficult as the player allows it to be. If you are undergeard, it is hard (and vice-versa). I like this style of game but I can concede that it will get dull for people that aim to accomplish things quickly. Their needs to be more variety. While 2.1 offers some interesting things, having a 24 man dungeon in place for players that will already be geared over it, seams a bit backwards.
Here are some things that I think should be implemented aside from hat has been said in the dev notes for 2.1:
1. Notorious Monsters (FFXI style, not FATE NM's): This will make people go out and hunt down monsters in places not just to level up, but to solo, group kill, and get gear that is unique from dungeon/instance gear.
2. Ability based gear: All the gear to date just increases stats. Where is the gear that will increase X skill/ability by Y value? Why can't i get a shield that increases my shield bash stun time? Why can't a BLM get a rod that increases Ice damage by X?
3. Materia needs to have more variety: If materia had more variety, crafted gear and gear that has materia slots will be more sought after. If the materia has more variety (not just stat increases) people can be more creative with their classes. Pretty much the same principle as #2.
4. Harder solo content: this is self explanatory. The only challenging solo content is trying to kill fate bosses, which altogether sucks because people just come in and help out. There needs to be a solution here.
5. Ability to go into a dungeon with less than the required amount of people. I should be able to go into Toto-Rak at 50 with a friend and try to duo it, just because I'm up for the challenge.
6. Card mini-games: a staple (somewhat) of the FF series that IMO would fit in really well in an MMO. If I'm bored/waiting for people/etc., I should be able to play tetra master on the streets of Limsa Lominsa with someone. Bet gil, etc., and generate more interaction between players.
7. Make monsters drop gil: Allow me, if I want to, to endlessly farm mobs for gil. Bird Blood farming from FFXI anyone? yes, please.
Cant think of anymore right now as I am at work, but I think these things will make more content in game and not limit players to only a few reasons to log on.
And that is how you construct a mature post. Thanks Lord_Zlatan.
I would like it if they had other ways to obtain endgame gear. From what i see said about endgame i really don't want to deal with most of the bad people in duty finder. A good example of other ways would be like how DCUO did the solo "challenges". Where you could do some hard solo instance and get some marks (tomes), but not nearly what you'd get for running a dungeon raid with a group. They could also only be done once per day. They were great for if you didn't have time to set up a whole group but still wanted to make alittle progress before bed, or maintenance in FFXIVs case.![]()
Ya the game can get boring, but its dependent on how you play and how long you play. The game is what you make of it.
I would assume that if they removed Myth cap at least, more end-game people will be more "entertained." However, this would only be a temporary entertainment till they get everything lol.
True, but at what point are the devs supposed to placate people that do nothing but play all day? "Keep making content" is not an appropriate answer because said people will just continually beat the content.Ya the game can get boring, but its dependent on how you play and how long you play. You can't always make those people happy is my point. A few more things need to be added though, that is for sure.
The only time I get bored of any MMO is because I have noone to play with. Every MMO has it's good and bad, it's who I go through the good and bad with that makes the difference. Going through the storyline and dungeons in this game, I've met some really nice and pleasant people in game and even though some of them were for just a brief moment, they've made the game really enjoyable for me during those experiences. I've also found a solid group of friends that I play with every day so I hope they stick around because they've made me go from not want to log on at all to logging in every day.
Yeah, that certainly helps. The only time I get bored of any MMO is because I have noone to play with. I went through 3 FC's before I started experiencing "community" in the game. the 4th one has been awesome (shout out to HnS on Goblin!!), and it has made an already enjoyable gaming experience even better.
I find myself doing sastasha, tam tara, and copper bell, just because a new FC member needs it. Im more than happy to do 'old' content to be social and have a good relationship with the FC. Some people however find doing things like this a waste of time. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I feel ya man, I'm glad there are players like you out there that makes others experiences so much better. I feel the comradery in MMORPG's seems to be extinct and I commend players like you. These days, most people if they don't get anything out of it, you're SOL for help.Yeah, that certainly helps.
