I use it. Especially for the lv50 instances, and most of them go just fine. They're not speed runs, but they're not the nightmares people like you make them out to be.

Leveling is the most obsolete system that exists in MMO's. It's a waste of assets as about 90% of the game becomes outdated by virtue of rewards no longer being of use, and now you get beautiful areas and dungeons that are ghost towns.

Meanwhile the rest of us just long on do one-shot Turn 1-4 in a single day, maybe sneak in some Twintania attempts the same day. And the rest of the week is the boring WP tome farm.

The problem of content being easily outdated is a matter of implementation and not inherent to leveling. Besides, by that logic all content is obsolete because no matter what there comes a point when you are done with it (your wp and coil turns for example will be obsolete once you no longer have any gear you need from them). I don't think I can agree with you.

I have 4 lv50's, so it'll be a long time before I run out of WP's, and even at that point a WP is basically 13 minutes of work for 100 tomes, 25 tomes short of 30-35k gil worth.

What exactly is your point? It still has the same core problem you attributed to leveling which you stated made it a worthless addition. They could have made leveling take longer, they could have provided leveling activities that retain their use post leveling process, etc. It stands to reason that if leveling is worthless content because you eventually move past it then all content with very little exception is worthless and I just can't say that is so.

I just told you endgame dungeons do not become obsolete, ever. The tomes can still be turned into cash. You can still buy crafting mats with them. Hell, if you don't like anything but battle content endgame dungeons are your only source of income for repair.

The leveling content, on the other hand, becomes completely obsolete. There is no reason to repeat it whatsoever.

When they release an xpac or a new tier, the content will become obsolete, and that's one of my problems with vertical progression design. All dungeons should by default scale down gear to the ilv they were meant to be tackled with.

Cash becomes obsolete too, what are you going to buy when you have completed all of the progression? It is all the same thing, once you have it all there is no reason to do it again (even repair, if all the content is no longer getting you anything other than a gil value you have nothing to spend it on then what exactly are you doing that is going to net you a repair cost?).

Besides, suggesting that is really stretching it... even leveling dungeons have a potential monetary payoff (small but still there) and items to collect (gear style you like or minions etc.).

Also going back to my first point, thats a problem with how leveling content is designed HERE and not a problem with leveling content in general. Just as some examples, they could have rare crafting materials, objectives, some kind of points, repeatable quests, NMs, introduction of level sync party function and merit point systems all as ways of making leveling content valid long after.
