Both those are assuming HQ gear. Can see it in use here, Eir Disir. I put a note at the bottom of the doc about why the materia requirements are so high.

I have great news! The perception cap for the offhand is 20!

I must still be confused then. Can anyone provide a list of baseline GAT, PER AND GP when level 50 with all HQ gear? I was under the impression that at that point you would have PER around 321 which is enough for a 1% for unspoiled nodes, GAT would be 17 points from reaching the 90% "cap" on unspoiled nodes, and GP would be 32 points away from 600. Are my calculations not correct? Both those are assuming HQ gear. Can see it in use here, Eir Disir. I put a note at the bottom of the doc about why the materia requirements are so high.
Actual caps for Militia Bracelets = GP: 7 GAT: 4 PER: 4
Also, Militia Sledgehammer GP cap is 4.

It is low, but it also makes sense. With every piece of equipment capped on GP your total will be 620. This allows you to use the best perception food (rather than GP food) and still hit 630. What is the relevance of that? With 630 GP you can use Toil of the Mountaineer (-300 = 330), Sharp Vision (-50 = 280), strike 4 times (+20 = 300), Solid Reason, Deep Vigor, 2 strikes at 100% HQ. Yes, this could be done with cheaper food at 610 GP, but then you can't reach the Perception cap of 384 (399-403 with NQ or HQ Landtrap Salad) Since we know that Gathering is useless after 340, all that's left to figure out is the maximum useable amount of Perception.
Edit: Actually I made a mistake there. With the off hand melded with 4 GP the max becomes 624. You could also hit 628 if you use the second best primary and meld 4 GP, but I couldn't see the drop in GAT and PER being worth it. 30 is the maximum you can get from food making the absolute maximum GP 658, but as of yet I don't see any purpose in going above 630.

HQ Wrists are GTH4/PERC4, not 3/4.
edit: Sry, what he said 3 up.. lol
That is correct, or pretty close to it. I get 322 gathering and 573 GP in unmelded HQ gear, but I may have made a mistake.I must still be confused then. If your goal is 340 gathering and 600 GP, you can get there pretty easily with a minimum of materia.
Fully melded HQ accessories and unmelded HQ armor/offhand would give you 341 gathering, 339 perception, and 606 GP, and you can do that without using any grade three or four materia at all.
Edit: I misunderstood what Crush3r07 meant. It looks like NQ items and HQ items share the same total stat caps, so the NQ materia caps are just the HQ caps plus the difference in base stats.
I have some screenshots of perception caps for NQ gear (from someone I inspected) if anyone wants further evidence.

I'm hoping ddaydj still reads this because I have a question regarding some of the materia choices that confuse me a little. Here's what I originally planned out when looking into melding:
Disciple of Land Materia Plan - Materia Cap
Taking the base melds on the gloves for example:
Why did you pick 2 Guerdon II (+4 each) over one Guerdon IV (+8)?Code:Botanist’s / Miner’s Gloves Gathering +8; Perception +4 Gatherer’s Guerdon Materia II Gatherer’s Guerdon Materia II
Has this to do with availability/price or is there a statscap per slot? I have little knowledge of melding so far so I am genuinely curious.
As I'll be getting Botany and Mining to 50 tonight I plan to deck myself out in full HQ, I have the cash for the gear through fishing but I'm now working on a plan to meld the gear to at least the recommended stats and move on from there and I 'd like to calculate in advance how much gil I'll have to save up for that.
