    ^^ This.

Yes, instances require certain gear and skill rotations to win. But if you're not helping those that are struggling, guess what? You're part of the problem.

Have patience, and calmly tell people what they are doing wrong and how to fix it. Most people will respond well to the help. Not everyone learns well by watching youtube videos or reading detailed stat testing documents, some people /gasp need a hand from a fellow player to give them assistance in getting things right.

Its touching. Sadly this community is going the same way, just a week after release and its, 'god, newbs' and 'skip cutscenes!' for first timers. Now you can't move in Mor Dhona without hearing, "LF X class, must have Y gear and experience!" Heck people are leaving DF, (Where you dont get to pick your party) because some other players are not in full DL.

Its uncommon to see someone giving a chance to somebody new anymore.
    Please, let's be honest.

First of all, going all BAWW publicly is something that kinda guarantees forgiveness and, most of all, attention.
It's not that different from trash TV shows where people go and cry so others can pity them and feel better with themselves for apparently being "sensible people".

"Hey, this moves my feelings, I am clearly a sensible person, now I can judge people who are not as sensible as me of being dicks".

I am not saying this is your case, mind you - I'm just saying that while it's easy to talk bad about someone privately, doing so in public is much harder to do. The easy thing to do in public is to be kind, gentle and understanding because that's how society is, ALWAYS, not only in MMOs.

Secondly, many people playing this game (and any other game) have limited playtime. Many people have jobs, families, or other things to do.
If they want to run a raid or a dungeon in a short amount of time because they don't have the time to wipe 20 times, it does not mean they are bullies or hardcore. It simply means that they want to play properly in the little free time they have.
I can talk for myself here: i have very little time to play during the evenings, so little that I can barely manage to cap my Myth stones each week (usually I finish on Sunday nights). If I had to deal with 2h WP runs, I wouldn't be able to do that; I would not enjoy the game since I won't be able to explore all the content I paid for, if I don't improve my gear (as gear is still quite relevant in this game, sadly).

I would love to stand and shout in Limsa offering my help to newcomers - if only I had the time. But honestly, I am paying for this game with my money and I would like to proritize my enjoyment before other's.

I believe that anyone saying otherwise is just being hypocritical.

In a game where it's easier to just quit and rerun in order to maximise your rewards over helping a stranger you're unlikely to ever meet/run with again?

OK, sure. So you run with a dude. His DPS is awful. I mean AWFUL. You need 4 runs of the same boring thing to get the shiny thing you're doing this for. So you stop, at the bitterness of the other two in your party and you help. That's great. So you finish the run, it takes twice as long, but you finish it and he thanks you. So you queue again and get a quick run! w00t! Two more runs! And then you get the worlds worst Dragoon who eats the first repel and you die on the Wall. No limit break and you're a Bard, so you're not doing anything to that add on spawn, and you can't ignore them because the Dragoon's DPS is terrible... so you think... well, OK, sure, I can help... but i'm a Bard; I don't know how to Dragoon. So I can't help him much, other than outlining the mechanics. Cool. You do that. But you've already helped one dude, and you still have another run... etc etc etc.

I agree completely with your sentiment, but let's not kid ourselves - after a while you get numb to it. You get irritable to the people are bad, and worse, you can't help them; there's no way I can make a Black Mage's damage better, I don't know the first thing about it, for example.

So you finish the instance, time out, or it takes too long and some other less patient dude quits and the group falls apart. We've all been there; you're a 4th of the group, the other two most likely don't share your views.

The developers have a responsibility here; and they know they do, there's an MvP system on the way proving it.

Yeah, you're right - I should of started with a world view you can feel comfortable with.

Your mummy tells you your pocket money is going to be halved .. etc etc.

If you can't deal in hypotheticals then that is your problem and not mine.

Also, this is indeed a game; now ask the guy who is being bullied whilst trying hard how much he's enjoying himself. Google a little; games have much larger real life social impact that you seem to be aware of. Your comfortable definitions work for you though, so, yay.

It is a game, a form of entertainment. Although challenging, it is fundamentally meant to be fun. Needless bullying has no place in games. The same as your pathetic comments have no place either. What if I am a child? Does it make you proud as a middle aged (most likely divorced) man to insult and pick on a young boy or girl? No wonder you hide on the internet, because there's no place for you in the real world sweetpea

TBH, I'd rather have fun than win. So if it takes longer to complete an instance, I'm totally ok with that.

And anyone using the duty finder (or pugging) has no right to complain about his mates, no matter gear or skill, let alone to be mean to them.
And let me add, if you really were that good you would find a premade in a matter of seconds, what the fuck are you doing in the DF? Feeling better than the noobs you are getting impatient at?
Most of the bitches i meet on the DF have less gear than me, yet they think its ok to complain because someone else has even less gear than them.
Ie people in DL whining about people in AF/WP/AK gear... how fucking stupid is that? Then i guess i should complain at anyone that isnt wearing i90? Idiocy in its purest form.
They just CANT WAIT to complain about someone, its blatantly obvious that makes them feel better... because they arent really THAT good
