Every player has the potential to become a gold buyer. Less buyers = less demand == drop in online RMT gold prices. And if they ever sink to a threshold of say $5 per million gil. HALF the player-base would probably become gil buyers.

SE's approach: Eliminate the supply, gil prices skyrocket, supply is harder to find. Win-Win Econ101

The reason why there are buyers is due to the intensity of earning gil imo. I think most casuals (and possibly hardcore) dont even have a DoH at 50 so they have no gil earning potential thus look towards rmt as a possible solution or they could just be lazy. But yeah rmt is pretty bland to me. If you can ignore ads in real life you can ignore them in-game.

...and another thread advertising specific RMT. Reporting...

There is one other thing I would like for the players to follow. Please do not post any links to any RMT sites no matter which site you’re posting on. This leads to indirect advertisement for them. I understand you’re just trying to report but please try to understand and help us.

They could just create a separate "earned" currency similar to how FFXI Abyssea cruor or bayld that is non transferrable but actually rather valuable for stuffs and items that are needed. As well as making sure that getting gil is very easy and you use gil for normal non vital items. When most of the gears are rare/ex and you have non traceable currency, "money" becomes a moot point.

No that is not effective enough. valuable for stuffs and items that are needed. As well as making sure that getting gil is very easy and you use gil for normal non vital items. When most of the gears are rare/ex and you have non traceable currency, "money" becomes a moot point.
Won't work that way. What are the Crafters going to do then? Selling non Vital Items? Why should they craft then.
And let's say if I as a lvl 50 GSM can craft Gear and sell it for the New Currency what would stop a Gill Seller prevent from buying that piece and give me money?
Maybe SE should just Buy Gil and look where it comes from? I mean somone needs to eliver it doesn't it? Can't you not like just buy it and then look at the char who sended you the Gil?
Makes another Question is that even legit? I mean if you buy Gil Online will you actually get it? I always though it is just a way to ripp you off of your Real Life Money.

I noticed today the tells are becoming polite some tells with hearts and smiles wishing me a good day, or like last night giving me a holiday discount of 13%! SE needs to hurry up and fix this, and if they cant then they need to open up my blist and take my 200 people limit away, cause Im real close to hitting that cap now, and I dont know what Im going to do then.

Gil sellers are now macro spamming shouts in cities now, blist macros that players are using. The Gil sellers are WAY worse on the NA servers rather then the JP servers. Don't know if that is because there is a bigger market here or if there is no where near the support staff for the NA/EU servers. Something real needs to be done because it is both frustrating and ridiculous and its hard to make money as a fledgling crafter if the gold sellers are allow to have their way with the markets.

I thought they put limits on creating new characters to combat this? seems like it's not working.

I'm loving this idea and it needs to stand out for devs to see it, however I suggest no tells period to anyone but people on your FL, in your FC and linkshells. There's no real good reason to be able to /tell others if it means putting an end to rmt tell spam. I would say to allow it at level 50 at least, or 30+. There are needs for /tells to others at times. Just... stop allowing RMT to do it. Making them work to level up to be able to spam their crap then banning them serves to dishearten them further. That's a good thing.

Shouts etc are a little harder to do, but who uses chat channels much as a newbie player at level 1? Practically no one does. So maybe move all chat channels to 15+? Seems like a forgiving starting point for most people, when they start to need chat channels for things. They have to do something because a good majority of players have chat channels filtered in city areas at this point. They aren't even being used anymore thanks to RMT.
