I would like to point out that the opening post is literally word-for-word copied from a previous thread that got deleted for devolving into shit-flinging. Pretty sure that it was the same person too, but I'm not 100%.

Remember how FFXI didn't want to be FFXI anymore with the inclusions of Abyssea and the newest expansion? Vanilla FFXI is dead and for a good reason, no one wants it anymore.
Because WoW brought many improvements in the way MMOs work, have introduced mechanics that are now considered standard, and made it possible for an MMO to have millions of active players, rather than the couple hundred thousand, maybe a million if they are lucky before that.
You can argue for the drawbacks of some of these improvements (like the Dungeon Finder system that was the last nail in the coffin for the WoW community) but the benefits far outweighed the drawbacks, when DF was introduced in WoTLK, the number of players doing dungeons increased dramatically, and player retention rates soared.
I guess they will add things like that. At least i hope it.
But the party-grind one could do easy and in fact i do it with 2 or 3 mates many times. Exactly like in FF11 here are mobs that are very fast to kill and gain a bit higher amounts of exp compared to other mobs in the area. Its very easy and also fast to levelup like that.
1. Maybe later.
2. Maybe later.
3. Maybe later.
4. Highly likely for PVP gear. Doubtful for PVE gear.(Denied on beta testing forum)
5. The reasoning for this was explained but I don't really remember. Besides you still require the community for your relic.
6. Personal Limit Breaks was denied by Yoshida on beta forums, Skillchains, Magic Bursts were also denied by him on the beta forums. Race specific equipment does exist. It's your starting gear and it should remain only your starting gear.
i'm not arguing anything, merely offering simple suggestions for additions that are both nostalgic and would only add to what is currently available
No offense but FFXI was a really terrible game mechanically. Building a party of four and grinding a mob at a time for hours is worse than many text based muds were capable of. It was actually a limitation of the format. You want what Tanaka wanted, but Tanaka made his game and you played it. It almost tanked this game. Never in the history of mmos has a game been dumped, remade and relaunched like this.
When MMOs fail, they DIE and jobs are lost. What you're experienced is unprecedented history, and you would have them undo it to satisfy what? Grinding mobs? There is nothing inspiring about a game that isolated itself from the world. We've long gone past the days of Everquest and FFXI. Our current game has inspiration from Aion, Rift, Guild Wars 2, and yes, Warcraft. As a modern mmo should. This is SE doing what western companies have been doing and Japanese ones haven't:
Adapting to survive in an industry ready to forget about them if given the chance.
I don't get it. As someone who played WoW for many years, to the point where i have multiples of every class at 85 - 90, i fail to see how XIV is 'like WoW'.
Is it because XIV has Dungeons and WoW does too? Guess what? So do all fantasy MMOs!
Is it because XIV is hotkey based combat? well, a good majority of fantasy MMOs are hotkey based. Even Tera, though its style is different.
Can someone help me out here? Because i really truly cant see the WoW in my XIV.
I found OP's name ironic when considering the communities of the two games mentioned.
I think they were playing it a little too safe with the relaunch but if housing is any indication, there will be many exciting and unique features to come.
