And for the love of all why does Firestorm / Conflag have two names?

The Japanese name for conflagration is firestorm ("ファイヤーストーム").
Happens with loads of spells/abilities/mechanics in FF in the localisation process. Always seemed a bit funny to me considering a lot of the names that get changed are actually English to begin with.
