WoW is P2P and it updates super fast for me, FFXIV on the other hand is slow as hell.

Yes I have ports open before anyone asks, direct download servers can we have them.

There's also a lot more people playing WoW, and thus more peers to connect to in most areas.

I don't trust SE's ability to maintain a direct download that won't be brought to its knees the second a patch goes live. Perhaps that is what's going on with their tracker, as one major difference between Utorrent and the SE client is that Utorrent isn't allowed to use SE's tracker, yet we seem to have much better success without it ^^;
