I will agree with you on the teleporting. A lot of it is way too fast and there's no sense of real travel or really earning those fast traveling methods. Airship is a joke. This game would have been much more fun if you had to walk or mount to most places. I liked how in FFXI, Whitemage is the only class that can teleport, and Blackmage is the only class that can Warp (Return). It is really unbalanced and unfair to give both of those abilities to EVERY job in the game... just too casual.

I simply don't understand comments like this at all. Nobody is forcing you to teleport, you're choosing to. Other than getting to Limsa/La Noscea, everywhere else can be reached on foot. Teleportation is not mandatory, it is simply in there for people who either don't want to, or may not have the time to, travel great distances. If you are teleporting around then that's your own choice so don't complain about not enough travelling.

lol what a ridiculous post.if you want the leveling process to a longer time then...idk...MAKE IT LONGER FOR YOURSELF?!!! MAYBE? i dont know, that what i did. i played since phase 4 and i still havent yet endgame. why you may ask? because i want to experience everything the game has to offer. check out my lodestone and notice that im currently is leveling ALL CLASSES e.g. DoW, DoM, DoH, and DoL. i impose restrictions on myself to make the leveling process harder (or longer).

same go for the OP. if you want to enjoy the game in a certain way, then set rules for yourself so the the game work in the way you want.
