I think they just need to fix Fists of Wind so it gives Skill Speed boosts like it did previously.

1) increase the duration on a number of things
2) decrease the CD on shoulder tackle as well as the minimum distance requirement
3) change howling fist to an AoE used in raptor form so we can have a AotD>HF>RB AoE rotation
4) make fists of wind lower GCD as well like the old tooltip says and maybe a bit more of a speed boost, that way people can actually decide between wind/fire
I can see this becoming a part of the rotation opener when perfect balance and greased lightning is down, wind until you are at 3 stacks then switch to fire. Wouldn't mind if it worked that way, although the other elemental fists only boost one stat, so if it was either/or I'd keep it as movement speed.
Do we have a use for that movement speed though? About the only slightly cumbersome use I see in that is to switch to it between enemy groups to reach the next one before GL3 runs out. But then, we are limited by the tank's speed since they have to arrive at the scene earlier and grab aggro. Plus in most cases we can just use shoulder tackle to quickly reach the next enemy, not all the time though.

It's benefit is negligible - I find that when I am unfortunate enough to be brought to Titan (HM) on Monk Phase 5 generally is much easier with Fists of Wind up. I notice that other Monks rarely change their Fist stance but it can be very effective in certain boss fights; Titan for example you'd use Earth during heavy damage moves such as Titan's jumps or Earthen Fury - then swap to Fire - then to Wind for Weight of the Land then back to Fire - Wind again for Bombs unless it's a safe zone (in which case you Shoulder Tackle in Fire). Titan is a challenge for Monks in particular - higher skill speed and higher health point values seem to be more important than overall strength because a dead DPS is useless - and the faster you can stack Greased Lightning the better since it will drop.
Besides Greased Lightning needed a timer buff(Maybe 20 seconds) and removing our silence off the GCD/Stance requirement, I dont really see how we need a buff. In the hands of a good player, monks will destroy anyone, with bards and DRG's being right there with us. Thats my opinion anyway, you guys are more than welcome to keep asking for some buffs(some being completely ridiculous and overcompensating, while other making sense) but whatever.
My idea for a new move was a flying kick(like the old ff games) that shot the Monk back into shoulder tackle range. This would allow them to dodge AOE and be in range for a fast distant closer.
Honestly from a mnk main i really only have 1 gripe with it that's very noticeable. When im doing my rotation fracture > touch of death > perfect balance > demolish > snap punch x2 > twin snakes > dragon kick x2 i have the full dps train going. I feel like holding everything up is difficult because you can't always overlap your dots. So dragonkick can wear during your rotation or fracture or demolish because you can't reliable overlap them so you have to wait for them to wear off. I still weave them back on as quickly as possible. I just feel like from the information I've gathered losing that second or two to make sure the dots are off before you reapply is slightly damaging the dps. I feel that if dots can be overlapped so i can reapply before Garuda disappears for sisters or before i have to go take care of adds say in WP or AK i could hold a higher dps.
I don't know, I rather enjoy MNK in Titan HM. I rarely get plumes, and I don't die any more than when I'm doing it on my SCH. I should try mapping my FoE more conveniently so I can weave between fire and earth, but I really see no benefit in wind. It's benefit is negligible - I find that when I am unfortunate enough to be brought to Titan (HM) on Monk Phase 5 generally is much easier with Fists of Wind up. The difference in speed isn't that noticeable imho. So I'd rather have them give skill speed to be honest. Or maybe a higher buff to the movement speed than it currently has. Back in 1.0 monk AF used to give you a boost to movement speed when in wind form (the feet, from what I remember), but now we have no such equip pieces.

Maybe 2 weeks ago when I was a new level 50 mnk who got there mostly by doing fates (2nd job) I would have probably agreed with the OP.
But now, after many rounds of Ifrit, Garuda and Titan, I finally learned and understand the job and can say for sure it is not only a very high potency DPS but a very well tuned job as well.
Its designed to take a bit of skill to play and I prefer they left it that way.
