If we wish to remain on topic, the core points are:
    • This new 2.0 feature was implemented, when GC switching was not allowed before in 1.0 .
    • There are very clear warnings about how your initial GC choice would be for the long term.
    • In terms of defining what "long term" means: A dedicated, competent player could switch within 8 hours of joining their first GC, assuming they are level 47+.

If you cannot deal with the mistake that you made in skipping said warnings and dialogue, there is still no solid reasoning for blaming SE or demanding they remove said prerequisite.
your point is taken. I still think its a ridiculous requirment but seeing as how it wasnt even available in 1.0 I can see how some would disagree with me. however making the requirements clearer within the game would benefit everybody and I don't think its a bad request.
    something simple like
be aware if you wish to change Grand Companies you must first achieve Rank of First Luitenant.
however it seems many of you don't even think this is a good idea for whatever reason I have yet to discern.

also not all dedicated competent players want to level that fast. I am taking my time to enjoy this game. yes I'm leveling slower than many of you are but I'll get there when I get there.

Skipping dialogue is likely the main reason you made the mistake, I concede that they could put an "are you sure?" dialogue as an extra layer of redundancy, but iirc they already have that.

As for why several people don't see the point of removing the conditions to change, it may revolve around the relative ease to change, the lack of any real importance from one GC versus another.

What's you favorite color? favorite salute? favorite city? That's about it for the moment.

The average player would rather have devs focusing more heavily on development that has significant improvements to the game, not merely cosmetic improvements.

I didnt actually skip the dialog, I joined Maelstrom because that was my starter city not realizing how much more time I would be spending in Gridania. because after some time of leveling Arcanist I decided I would just rather play CNJ and get WHM first.

which ofcourse has nothing to do with the GC. so yeah you're right I did do this to myself because at the start I was thinking SMN or SCH would be what I wanted to play primarily as

One thing that you will likely be glad about, your first GC switch can be done whenever you want, and the switching fee is waived.

Any future switching beyond that will cost 50,000 gil, and has a one month waiting period since your last switch.
