why are you people making excuses for a system that is clearly flawed.

Based on your current situation and some of your responses; I am guessing that you are one of those players that speeds through all the dialog, rather than taking the time to read anything. Further, it seems that you didn't investigate what each of the Grand Companies offer before choosing. Unfortunately, things like this happen when you do stuff all willy-nilly like that. You can't expect SE to change the game mechanic, as you were warned repeatedly.

Anyway, you're not in the position to go off on other people in this thread for not rallying in support of your rant. It will only make people who were willing to hear you out, less willing to do so after reading your responses.

Think about it like this, at least they didn't stick some crazy amount of gil as a price tag on changing.

For future reference though, when the game repeatedly warns you on something, please make sure that you have thought your choice through before choosing. The failure of the player to do this is not a flaw with the game.

first I didnt just speed through the dialog, that dialog tells you it will be difficult but does not tell you that you need max rank to change to another GC(still a ridiculous requirement nomatter what any of you say)
and no I don't expect them to change anything. but at the very least bit they could add the exact requirements to the dialog, you know kinda like how they tell you the next class/job quest will be available at level x? yeah like that

issue is most of them didnt come here to hear me out at all, they came to ridicule my posts. and white knight SE for this flawed ideal. so I should just accept it and move on is pretty much what you are saying. your response isnt a hell of a lot better than theirs

my point is this. I admit they do say it wont be easy to change later, but the requirements should be clearly laid out or not there at all. if you are going to add a restriction on things without making it clear what those restrictions are within the game you are not doing a very good job of communicatioin. thinking everyone is going to look at lodestone or the forums is just arrogant assumption. I personally know a lot of people who never visit either of them.

I admit I didnt respond very well to some of the responses and for that I know I made myself look bad. I wont make excuses for that

something like earning a certain amount of seals to get a pass would be acceptable but I dont want to have to keep going back to an inconvenient location to rank up in a GC I dont even want to be in

You only have to do it once anyway, it's not like you lose your ranks in your previous company.

Besides, I can't think of any reason to switch back so quickly. So how is it a slap in the face. Why are you in such a hurry to switch away from one you just switched to?

The current rank cap is far from the max rank. When the higher ranks are released, the requirement for switching will remain the same.

so what exactly do you want? you didnt come here to ask for the easiest way to transfer, instead you made a point and just wanted people to agree with you, and disagreements (albeit some were not said in the kindest manners) were met with very volatile responses.

if you looking for a virtual pat on the back for identifying what you thought was a pertinent issue, well you obviously havnt been visiting online forums very much, and seriously, it takes an informed mind to entertain a thought he is in disagreement with.. which you have demonstrated to be impossible - so if you cant accept how others find the transfer requirements acceptable, no one is really obliged to entertain you.

The way OP is trying to defend her argument that has little to no merit for a situation that can be easily remedied by putting a moderate amount of effort in...I'll give OP points for trying so hard.

You only need 36000 seals to get promoted to the highest rank in order to transfer, it won't even take that long. Suck it up and move on with your life, you're only hurting yourself by trying to get the devs to fix something that isn't broken.

Just be patient.

Get your 50, and get the achievements while you're in the GC you're in (the seal pet, then hunting log pet, the seal amount achievement).
Then, when you're at max rank switch.

I mean, if your character is level 33 right now, you're really not that far off.
Right now, GC doesn't really matter, so just have some patience. You'll be able to change eventually.

I mean hell, be thankful you will eventually be able to change. In 1.0, you were stuck with the GC you chose.

OP, I'm sorry you don't like the GC you're in. I know it took me a while to decide. I picked Immortal Flames in the betas and ended up hating the look of the uniform (mostly because of the puke green boots) as well as realizing Maelstrom made more sense for the my character. Luckily this was before the wipe, so I was able to go with the "right" choice come release. It would have been extremely frustrating to have to grind up all the ranks on the Flames before I could switch to the GC I really wanted. D: Alas, it is your only option, which you of course already know.
